It's here...in more way than one...

So...the big day is over!!! All the scurrying...baking...fretting....wrapping....sending....etc has come to an end...the big finale!!! Christmas morning.....My son had asked...."what do you need when you wake up so we can get right to the presents"....my response....COFFEE!!!! I'm not sure who was up earliest....me or the kids...so, I'll call it a draw....tried to go back to sleep...but NO!!! So...coffee it was!!

Once the coffee was made and disbursed...new batteries in the camera...everyone situated....the games began...I played Santa this year and passed out the gifts...we initiated a tradition very early on...we take our time, savoring each gift and enjoying what everyone gets!!! and then it was over.

We were truly blessed this year!! The Merriest of Christmases it was!!! I so love my family, cherish my new found health.....and am blessed with awesome friends!!!

Here is a little ditty I created for my hubbola for Christmas....using the AMAZING Pink Paislee...Cupid Collection....ohhhh the lusciousness!!! And he did like it!! When my new camera arrives I will create a my first video tutorial on how I made the paper flower. It should be here this week...YIPPEE!!!

PS....Happy and Safe New Year to all!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL!!!!

The tree is finally decorated....the sugar cookies baked, decorated and ALL eaten.....presents wrapped...

OK...and I'm just a mess.....a funny....I was upset because I couldn't find my peel and stick tags...thinkin' now I need to go to the store and buy more.... DUH....WHY DON'T I JUST MAKE SOME?!?!?!!? I think I have the technology....ya think?

Another funny.....when we got our tree....brought it home...put it up and realized it took up most of the living room (my husband couldn't see the TV from his seat on the couch)....so I fixed it.....cut all the limbs off the back side of the tree and pushed it up against the wall....placing the limbs outside to work with later. I brought them in and threw them in the tub, as they had become snow encrusted.

The next day....I was thinkin'....boy, our tree sure smells super good...went to get my limbs...and by golly there they were, on the heat....hence the amazing smell that was wafting through my house....needless to say, I lost some of my branches but I was able to rescue a few branches to create this swag.....

I said all of this to say.....Have a Merry Christmas....make the most of what comes your way....and just think....you could be having a baby in a barn with a bunch of bleating sheep!!!

Remember.....Jesus is the Reason for the season!!!

PS....OMW....I guess if one is going to use "Comment Moderation" they should know how it works.....YOU THINK?!?!?!!? I had thought it rather strange I hadn't had ANY comments lately...by golly...signed in the am and there they were....11 of them.....thank you ladies for you wonderful words....NOW I KNOW HOW IT WORKS!!! hehehehehehe

Happy Friday!!!

Whoo it's Friday...not that that means much to me as I work every Saturday....GOTTA LOVE RETAIL!!! it's keeps me with my discount!!! so no complaints here...

So, at Let's Capture These Sketches we have a Guest Designer this week....Beth aka CrafterBeth!! She created an amazing sketch to work with...(am having problems down loading it so you will need to go to the blog)! Also, both teams are playing so....tons of inspiration!!!

As you may know, I have been following Tim Holtz - 12 Tags of Christmas.....OH THE AWESOMENESS!!! So, I'm kinda stuck on using the Maya Road Christmas Chipboard...and gussying it up!!! Hence the Christmas tree!! have we seen this somewhere before?!?!?!

I also decided to use a slightly unconventional embellishment.....Christmas Berries!!! Yes, I know my pages are WAY THICK!!! Another cool thing I did was create the scrunched up tulle behind the "25"! You see, if you heat it with a Heat Tool....it melts....WAY COOL!!! be careful....it happens quickly!

I got all the yummy papers and embellies for a kit I ordered from Timeless DayDreams!!! It was full of Prima Goodness and Pink Paislee Awesomeness!!!

I hope that every ones holiday season is a wonderful one....Happy Hanukkah....Merry Christmas....to all...and remember the reason for the season!!!

Time to toot my horn again!!!

So I got this email this morning....We have this going up today....meaning my "Pure Delight" Table Topper! It is being posted on ScrapScene...."The who's who of Scrapbooking!" How very cool!!!

I've been creating away....I received my kit from Timeless Daydreams....OMW...the beauty of it!!! I've created two layouts and two cards....My DH pulled out some older photos of when the kiddos were younger and "suggested" I begin scrappin' them...he's sooooo SMART!! I found this AWESOME family picture taken in 1999 (we think)! Aren't we soooo cute!!!

Now I must say I truly had fun creating the embellishments for this layout!!

For the first time I got to use Tattered Angels Glimmer Screens....and oh the fun of it!!! I already was totally in love with Glimmer Mist...now just the icing on the cake!!

Nextly, I created the ornament! I've been watching Tim Holtz 12 Tags of Christmas and it inspired me! I took a Maya Road Chipboard Ornament, ran it through my Cuttlebug using the Victoria Embossing Folder. I then, inked it using Aged Mahogany Distress Ink. Lastly, I applied Rock Candy Stickles to the raised areas. For a little added extra, I adhered a beautiful piece of beautiful lace.

Pink Paislee has a paper called Postcard...on there is the cutest little tree...so I just decided to use that idea to create a larger version. To accent it, I created a flower made from an old book page, a unknown paper and glimmer mist!

The rest of the yumminess is Pink Paislee and the bird is by Prima!

Hope I have inspired you to pull out some photos of the past...create some embellishments....and just have fun!!!

I ALSO HAVE A TUTORIAL ON THE BIND IT ALL BLOG!!! Check it out!!!

This is my sketch....I am so excited Santa is bringing me a Mac and Photoshop for Christmas so I can create more professional looking sketches....so for now you get a hand drawn one!! It all works...right!

Our sponsor for this month is ZvA Creative...the beautiful pearl flourish just added the finishing touch to my layout. Here is my take on the sketch...

When I was chosen to be on the Let's Capture These Sketches Design team, I received my first assignment and SURPRISE....it was to create a sketch. So, I created this sketch, but I got ssssooooo excited I created a layout following the sketch to find out later, we would have monthly sponsors. Needless to say, only people visiting my blog will see my first take on my sketch....hehehehehe!!!

How about that flower.....can you believe it is made from hearts? I must tell you though...it will not fit in an album!!! Helen Croft has the best flower tutorials...I must say!!

New Challenge.....

Hello Ladies.....

I don't know about you but I had the most amazing Thanksgiving this year....I haven't looked forward to a holiday in quite a while....but this year...was different...I was headache free and just loving being with my family, eating taste bud tingling food and creating with my 5 year old niece Sarah!!! (I can't believe I don't have any pictures of her creations!!)

So I couldn't wait to create this layout for the next DreamGirl Challenge....

"FAMILY"......{whatever family means to you!}
Prompt: The word Happy needs to be some where on your layout.
Prompt: All about your family and what that means for you.
Product: Use Ric Rac and journaling spots.

So this is the layout I came up with...

Now...I have to tell you...not sure where my head was for the last challenge...I only used ONE of the prompts/techniques/product...."A List of Ten"...I started creating and forgot all about the rest. One of the things I was supposed to do was use mixed up letters....so I carried the "Product" over to this layout!

Hope you enjoy this as much as I did making it!!!
