Home Sweet Home...

Have you ever had a challenge where you think you have a "GREAT IDEA" only to follow through with it and find it wasn't such a good idea.....well that's what happened this with week with...
A House.....
our theme for this weeks challenge a Simon Says Stamp and Show!

I had an idea.....worked and worked on it only to find.....
NOPE that's not gonna work. So I scrapped it and started ALL OVER AGAIN!
but this time the project just flowed!!

I had wanted to create a "Brick House" look.....and this is how I did it..
I began with a 3 x 3 Canvas Corp Canvas
painted it black with Black Gesso
When dry, I pulled out my Mini Brick Template and painted
on a layer of Gesso....a bit thick to have a textured look.
When dry I painted on a Color Wash created using
Modern Red
Altered Orange and
Sable Brown...
(the only carry over from the first project!!)

With the Black Gesso still out I painted a few Art Parts
Large Flourish Frame and
pieces from the Arts Parts Sample Pack

Then I had another brain storm.......stamp using
the large background stamp from
and
Traditional Tan Paint
Love the look!!!

And all the Canvas Corp Goodies
Mini Clothes Pins
Mini Triangle Canvas Shapes
and a piece of Canvas,
stamped with Jet Black Archival
and cut to the Arts Parts Flower shape.

Now, I've been rather curious about the Glassine paper so I thought......
what the heck....
let's try something
So, I tore off a sheet, ran it through my Big Shot
and embossed it using my fave embossing folder,
then noticing I had TONS of my color mixture left
I painted it on......Love the Look!

Soooooo, there you have it.......
my HOME SWEET HOME wall hanging!!

What images come to mind when I say...
A House.....
I would LOVE TO SEE!!

one color......ANY COLOR!!

Well folks.......

it's that time of the week!! Simon Says Stamp and Show has a new challenge...

ONE COLOUR.....ANY COLOUR!!

Now......I have a thing for black and ALWAYS HAVE! SO, I knew exactly where to start for this challenge. I went right to my Graphic45 papers. The thing I LOVE about this company is.....they use the same color palette in all their collections! So the beautiful papers from one line can be mixed with another!!

From there.....I had no idea except for the fact that I need to clean up my work surface before I could even begin this project.....it was a COMPLETE DISASTER AREA. In doing so I came across pieces parts that just seemed to just go together.....

A single chip board heart which I painted with Traditional Tan acrylic paint and stamped with Jet Black Archival Ink.

I found a peeled off piece of cardboard from a diecut Sewing Room Dressform. I inked around the edges with Black Soot and set about to create her dress.  I found a punch that fit JUST PERFECTLY to create a "little black dress"! Added a touch of vintage lace a and a small piece of black velvet ribbon. And she was dressed to kill.

I also came across a Canvas Corp Mini Circle...which just went perfectly!!

Amongst the mess was a piece of Core'dinations cardstock which I proceeded to emboss! I then used my Handy Dandy Sander to hit the high points. When the color core was exposed I pulled out a bottle of Distress Stain and ran it over the exposed areas.

The whole card was finished off by roughing up the edges with my Distrezz it All.

OK....so what color first popped into your head....that you could create a little ditty with!!

We would love to see it over at Simon Says Stamp and Show. So Link IT Up!! and who knows you could end up winning a SHOPPING spree.....now who doesn't love that!!

May Arts, Core'dinations & Petaloo

and it's a BEAUTIFUL match!!

I had the most AMAZING time working with

I adhered the Core'dinations paper to chipboard and die cut the Pumpkin and Bird Cage.
For the bird I adhered a Tangerine Flower to a piece of chipboard then diecut.

For the tag, I used a piece of Nightfall Core'dinations. After die cutting the tag, I dry embossed it, sanded the raised surfaces. I then spritzed the paper with Mandarin Perfect Pearl Mist, when dry I resanded the raised edges and inked with Rusty Hinge Distress Ink.

For the leaves, I colored the Snowflake White Color Me Crazy flowers with
Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint Reinker Mixtures.

who doesn't love....

The Wendy Vecchi???? cause I know I DO!!

SOOOO.....in honor of that....this week at Simon Says Stamp and Show the challenge is
Show us your Wendy Style!!

I began by painting the Art Shrine with black paint, when dry, I pulled out the Cubist Template and applied Molding paste. I then covered the back piece with Multi Medium and applied some way cool tissue paper.

Now......when I began this creative journey, I had every intention of creating a Wendy Style Art Shrine but something happened along the road.

While at my girlfriends house this past weekend, she pulled out some brand spankin' new Spellbinder dies, Spiral Blossoms 1 & 2, and I pulled out my Buckram and the cutting began!! When I got home, I pulled out my Tattered Floral Die and the Mini Tattered Leaves, along with my Vagabond

And the inky gooodness began!! I rolled the Spellbinder flowers. I created the yellow flower by spritzing it with a Mustard Seed Distress Reinker Mixture. While still wet, I rubbed some Wild Honey Distress Stain on the edges. Then I misted it with Mandarin Orange Perfect Pearls Mist. OHHH THE AMAZING GOOODNESS. And the beauty of the Buckram is that you can form it while it dries!!

I did head back down the Wendy path when I stamped her Butterfly on several pieces of Buckram and colored the wings with Tim's new Fall Distress Inks.....oh soooo yumma~lishhh! A little Platinum Stickles on the wings and Gunmetal for the body......And there you have it!!

So what does your Wendy style look like??? We would love to see it........so link up your creations to Simon Says Stamp and Show........and whooooo knows....you could be chosen to receive this....
