It's about the COLOR.....

OK.....so this week at
Simon Says Stamp and Show
the design team had the opportunity to work with some Faber-Castell gooodness!!
Now I will tell on myself and say,
I was a bit unsure about the products
as they were relatively new to me,
but I just jumped in with my
"let's try this" attitude!!!
And ohhhh the fun I had!

I knew the Gelatos were mixable with water
so I let the games begin!!

I began by stamping a floral image
on some Canvas Corp Canvas three times.
I used Jet Black Archival ink as I needed a waterproof ink. After I heat set the ink, I colored on 2 colors of Gelatos per layer,
orange and gold, orange and red,
yellow and orange.
With a paint brush I added water and
watched the blending begin!!

To create the stem and leaves for my flower,
using the Green ~ Big Brush Pen,
I drew on a piece of canvas.
This time I chose to scribble a bit of
green Gelato my craft mat, with a bit of water, created a wash and painted the stems and leaves.

For added contrast, I rubbed
the gold Gelato around the edge of my canvas and accented with Carmel ~ Glitter Glam.

So.......put on a Kaleidescope of Color....
it's ok if you don't have the Faber Castel products,
it's ALL ABOUT COLOR this week at
Simon Says Stamp and Show!!

Don't forget to link your creation to the blog so you can be in the running for this weeks.....

Anything Goes!!!

Put your thinkin' caps on cause this week at
ANYTHING GOES!

I was having a hankering to work with texture (now that's a surprise!!!)

I pulled out a piece of Zutter Canvas Art Board and various stuff: dictionary paper, tissue paper, Canvas Corp canvas and burlap and cardboard. I adhered everything with Multi Medium.

When dry I applied a layer of Gesso.

Then I let the spritzing begin!!! I tried a product I had never worked with before...and it was kinda fun.....Buccaneer Bay and Long John Silver.

I used another product I had never worked with before....Big Brush ~ Warm Grey. I colored my line stamp with it and stamped randomly on the cover.

I painted the beautiful Petaloo flower with watered down gesso.

Do you see the amazing Canvas Corp goodness....jute, canvas tag, kraft paper.

Just loving the trinket dangle....just the perfect touch to my journal.

I put the whole goodie together with
the Bind it All!!

Sooooo....as I said.....

It's all about.....

the TECHNIQUE!!!

This week at Simon Says Stamp and Show.....
we wanna see your FAVORITE Tim Holtz Technique!

I used a form of  Wrinkle Free Distress but with a twist, I substituted various Dylusion Inks, Bubblegum Pink, Squeezed Orange, Vibrant Turquoise, Fresh Lime     (instead of Distress Ink) and added a splash of
Sunflower Sparkle PP.

I then took out a Dylusion stencil and lathered on some Black Gesso to the tag. When dry, I chowwwdered up the edges with my ALL TIME FAVORITE
DISTRESS IT ALL

Using the Sewing Room Die, I cut a piece of cardboard, then spritzed it and applied a layer of Rock Candy Distress Crackle paint.

I created my mannequin fairy, adorning her with wings from Grungeboard Elements, spritz with ink and finished off with Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint.

I assembled her dress by stamping the edges of Canvas Corp Linen Paper, cutting around the stamped edge. I then wrapped a piece of Canvas Corp Black Waxed Cotton around her waist.

Every fairy needs a lamp made up of fireflies!!

So........what is your favorite Tim Holtz technique
or one that you've always wanted to try but just haven't or one you just haven't created in a while!! Get out your goodies....roll up your sleeves and LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!

Make sure to link your creation to
