My Metallic Princess

Hi Everybody....
We've made it into the new year....2018
A new year calls for some new product.
....and I got my hands on the
NEW RELEASE
from The Crafter's Workshop.

And off I went, trying out the new product.
I ran it through stencils,
I lathered it on with a palette knife.
I applied it to fabric and paper.
The only thing I found is it wasn't
fond of having the drying
process accelerated by using a heat tool
but still faired well!

I applied a bit of Canvas Corp Tissue Stock
to a piece of CC Cardstock ~ Kraft.
Then I began the layering.
And layer I did....7 of them in fact
using TCW stencils, new and old.

I LOVED how this paper felt when I was finished
....almost like leather. Textured leather that is!

Now, what to make with my new paper??!??!
I went digging through my box of naked bases
and found a Chunky ATC.

I painted my wooden ATC with TCW paint.
Can I tell you it was hard to cut this paper
....but I did!

While my block was drying, I went in search of wing material.
I decided on a piece of CC Flute ~ Kraft
and I applied layers of Metallic Modeling paste.
Now, I have no idea what the tool is I used but
I ran it down the grooves of the paper
and let the modeling paste dry.

I then cut up the strip of paper and adhered it to my block.
I pulled out a bag of mixed wood parts
and picked out a few and painted them
with the modeling paste.
(it had great coverage)

I used Sizzix/Tim Holtz Distressed Doily
to cut the Metallic Princess' wings.

I painted a few vintage buttons with
the Modeling Paste and it worked WONDERFULLY,
one coat did the job.

I even pleated the paper and the Modeling Paste didn't crack!

She wouldn't be a princess without a crown.
I pulled out my UmWowStudio ~ Crown Mash,
picked a crown and painted it with more Modeling Paste.

This product gets a two thumbs up from me!

I hope you have enjoyed my creative journey.
I still have more paper so be watching
to see what else I make.

Playin' along...

She Made Room ATC by Lynne Forsythe

I was invited by a fellow crafter to the
Mixed Up Mag Mixer....

Their latest prompt for the Pix N Mix prompts is
Week 3: Use up old alpha or number stickers/die cuts
so I decided to play along.

First, I wanted to make some "paper"
using some scraps that were laying around on my desk!
some vintage music paper a piece of 7gypsies Architexture paper
a bit of burlap
a couple pieces of lace
a strip of linen ~ cut up
all adhered to a piece of Canvas Corp Kraft paper
using Multi Medium Matte.

I then painted a layer of Multi Medium ~ Matte
all over EVERYTHING! as a glaze.
When dry, I applied a layer of
diluted Gesso.

When dry, I cut my new "paper" into a bunch of ATC's.
Then I went digging for some old Alpha's.
I affixed them to my ATC and white washed them.

I pulled out various Tattered Angels,
a few pieces parts that I had laying around,
I cut up a few left overs papers and made spiral flowers.

Here are a few closeups of my finished ATC.

The File Folder Has it!

SOOO...a few Crew Members were given a Social challenge....
watch Shannon Green's video on making File Folders...
and see where it lead us!!

My thoughts....just because I ALWAYS have to mess with things
....I really don't need any more file folders
....but this might be a kinda cool idea for a mini album.

So, upon my return to my studio...I watched Shannon's video
and let the creating begin!
SADLY, I have had internet and modem issues and
the video I created couldn't be loaded so....
finished PICTURES it is!!

To create my "folder"I pulled out
2 sheets of patterned paper from
7gypsies ~ Gypsy Seamstress Collection
12 x 12 Tape Measure
12 x 12 Buttons

I chose to fold the Buttons paper at 8", creating a deeper pocket
I then cut a 6"x 12" pieces of
Tape Measure and adhered them together.
I then cut my folder in half.
My mini album measures 6" x 8".

I painted each of the pages with a 50/50 mixture of Gesso and
Perfect Paints Glaze Medium.
I love the texture of the Gesso with the transparency of the glaze.

Now......this is when I became impressed with the
7gypsies ~ Gypsy Seamstress paper...

I layered on Perfect Paints Polishing Plaster,
then spritzed and splattered with Glimmer Mist
AND MY ALBUM IS FLAT!!! LOVE IT!!!

Now, I love to tell on myself,
I recently had a conversation
that I have thousands of photos on my phone
and NEVER PRINT THEM OUT!!
SO....I went to my phone and
printed pictures of the family last Thanksgiving
to fill my mini album!

I have to say.....
Yvonne Blair Designs/Impression Obsession ~ Words for Art stamp set
was PERFECT to capture my thoughts!

I pulled out a piece of CCB Handmade papers
various colored Burlap and a bit of Flute to accent my photos.

Well.....there you have it!
My take on the "Make your own folder Challenge"!!
What inspiration did you get when you watched Shannon's video??
I WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOU CREATIONS!!

I FINALLY was able to resolve my internet issue....
here is my video...
or should I say part of my video...
I got caught up in creating and forgot to turn
my camera back on!!
HOW DO I SURVIVE this thing called life!??!??!

My Soul Angel...

Howdy everyone....
Can you believe it....
Summer is ALMOST OVER
I CAN'T hardly stand it!

Anyways....
I've been meaning to share this little LOVER~LY
I create a while back!
....I just love her!
She stands watch over my studio...

The inspiration for my Soul Angel was
my DT box I had just received from
UmWowStudio
OH MY....how the creative juices began to flow!!

I dug out a Chunky ATC that had been banging
around on my crafting table for MONTHS.
Then, I remembered a bag of wood pieces parts, I had,
and dumped it on the floor to begin to compile my Soul Angel
a candlestick holder
a door knob
and a wooden ball.
My Soul Angel was beginning to take shape...

I smeared on a bit of
to match the previously created Chunky ATC.
Then, I painted all the wood pieces with
Perfect Paints ~ Aged Copper to match.

I glued all the pieces together with Ranger's Multi Medium.
While I was waiting for it to dry,
I cut (2) wings using Sizzix ~ Angel Wings die
and a bit of cardboard.
I manhandled the cardboard, tearing at it to
expose the corrugation.
Next I randomly painted on
Perfect Paints ~ Shimmering Matte Acrylic
True Blue
Sangria
when dry, a feathered on a bit of Ranger's Multi Medium
and added a bit of Stampendous Pearlized Fragments.

Then I dug into my new acquired stash of
UmWowStudio chippies!!
I used (2) leaves from Home Grown MASH
SOUL and flourishes from Fortune Teller MASH

I painted all my chippies with
Perfect Paints ~ Shimmering Matte Acrylic
I love how you can paint it on flat
or dab on to created texture.

I colored a bit of string
to match my Soul Angel's wings and
added a key and vintage button to round out her bodice.

What would my Soul Angel be without
a halo and veil!!?!?
I used a bit of vintage lace and such to create them
and finished it off with another
flourish from the Fortune Teller MASH.

I hope you have enjoyed my creative journey....
It was one of those projects I just had to get out
of my head and let it have it's way!

THANK YOU for stopping by........

It is WHAT it is...

Where do you get you inspiration??
While on a walk with my grandson I
came across this garbage can cover....
and I just had to snap a picture!

When the opportunity arose
I pulled out a bunch of Perfect Paints
and got lost in the creative process.

a bit of Shimmering Matte Acrylic Paint
some Polishing Plaster
Glaze Medium
and some "homemade" spray.

I began with a gesso'ed burlap canvas
added a layer of black gesso
and then a thin layer of
a 50/50 mixture of Glaze and Aged Copper,
which i wiped most of it off!
Then let the layering begin.

I dabbed on paint with various sponges
I mixed colors together
I combined paint and polishing plaster
all to achieve various looks and textures!

JUST LOVE THE LOOK!

Once my background was complete
the question arose....
WHAT OH WHAT to do now!
I must have stared at the canvas for a day.....

I pulled out various Petaloo blooms
the tag I had been using my 'TOVERs on
zipper parts
wire mesh
a bit of halloween netting.....

Here are a few close ups....
