My Soul Angel...

Howdy everyone....
Can you believe it....
Summer is ALMOST OVER
I CAN'T hardly stand it!

Anyways....
I've been meaning to share this little LOVER~LY
I create a while back!
....I just love her!
She stands watch over my studio...

The inspiration for my Soul Angel was
my DT box I had just received from
UmWowStudio
OH MY....how the creative juices began to flow!!

I dug out a Chunky ATC that had been banging
around on my crafting table for MONTHS.
Then, I remembered a bag of wood pieces parts, I had,
and dumped it on the floor to begin to compile my Soul Angel
a candlestick holder
a door knob
and a wooden ball.
My Soul Angel was beginning to take shape...

I smeared on a bit of
to match the previously created Chunky ATC.
Then, I painted all the wood pieces with
Perfect Paints ~ Aged Copper to match.

I glued all the pieces together with Ranger's Multi Medium.
While I was waiting for it to dry,
I cut (2) wings using Sizzix ~ Angel Wings die
and a bit of cardboard.
I manhandled the cardboard, tearing at it to
expose the corrugation.
Next I randomly painted on
Perfect Paints ~ Shimmering Matte Acrylic
True Blue
Sangria
when dry, a feathered on a bit of Ranger's Multi Medium
and added a bit of Stampendous Pearlized Fragments.

Then I dug into my new acquired stash of
UmWowStudio chippies!!
I used (2) leaves from Home Grown MASH
SOUL and flourishes from Fortune Teller MASH

I painted all my chippies with
Perfect Paints ~ Shimmering Matte Acrylic
I love how you can paint it on flat
or dab on to created texture.

I colored a bit of string
to match my Soul Angel's wings and
added a key and vintage button to round out her bodice.

What would my Soul Angel be without
a halo and veil!!?!?
I used a bit of vintage lace and such to create them
and finished it off with another
flourish from the Fortune Teller MASH.

I hope you have enjoyed my creative journey....
It was one of those projects I just had to get out
of my head and let it have it's way!

THANK YOU for stopping by........

Getting my GROOVE ON!!

I was SOOO EXCITED when I opened my "HAPPY MAIL"
containing my new GROOVE tool along with a few other goodies!
I couldn't wait to play....
I LOVE trying new products to see how they works!
So, I chose not to watch any video....
just open the box and begin PLAYING!!
See.....I used the "ink sponge" to apply my paint
but I TOTALLY loved how it worked!!

Now, that I had tried it....
now it was time to bring my creating on!!!
I sanded the papers...using the course sand tip
applied paint through a stencil....using the ink tip
(yup I did it again)
I even used the ink tip....to apply INK!
I must say....some times when applying ink...
I didn't turn the tool on...
especially when I was inking the fabric flower.
I truly enjoyed my creative process
and my new GROOVE tool...
Now, the one thing you have to remember is....
this is a battery operated tool.
If you apply too much pressure, while using
the tool, it will bog the it down!
It really doesn't require much pressure
to get the GROOVE tool to spin it's magic!!

I hope you have enjoyed my creative process....
'cause I KNOW I did!!
AND I LOVE my new GROOVE TOOL!!

Any thing goes........

and what fun I had with this challenge!!  ANYTHING GOES this week at Simon Says Stamp and Show!

I recently acquired the Big Shot and a new die by Sizzix......and SURPRISE....it's a floral die....the Flower's 3D. So I pulled out some Linen and Crinoline and a few of my other to go to dies......Tattered Floral and Tattered Leaves, along with a few of my other Sizzix dies and began cutting.

Now, before I could begin the coloring process I SOOO needed to reorganize my Mini Misters and replenish my supply of Distress Reinker Inks! I pulled out my handy dandy Mini Mister Organizers and set about my task.

Phew....glad I got that done.....now I could begin the fun stuff!! I made a few of the 3D flowers....watch out they can be addictive!!

I cut the leaves from Crinoline and colored them with Bundled Sage and Peeled Paint. When dry I fold over the bottom of the leaf and staple to give the leaves dimension.

I adhered all the flowers to a piece of chipboard with Multi Medium and added a bit of colored seam binding as a finishing touch. Adhered a pin back and the corsage was complete!!

I sooo wish I had brought my camera with me so I could show you how proudly my mom wore this on her jacket as we went about celebrating Mother's Day!!

So........there you have it......ANYTHING GOES!! what comes to your mind?? Can't wait to see your creations!! Don't forget to head on over to the other Teamies blogs for a look see!!

and who wouldn't mind winning this..........??!??!

wanna see.....

.....what I made with the GORGEOUS InBloom collection by Reminisce!!??!??!

From the moment I laid eyes on these papers........
I JUST FELL IN LOVE....the colors and uhmmm the flowers!!!

and having the right subject matter helps too......heheheheheh

I cut flowers out of the "Power of Flowers" paper.
To add alittle character to them I embossed them with Tim Holtz ~ Collage Texture Fade.

add some yummie Petaloo flowers, a gorgeous Sizzix diecut flourish, a hand crocheted heart,
a smidge of tulle, a piece of Tim Holtz ~ Distress Cardstock and there you have it.......

FLOWERICIOUS GORGEOUSNESS!!!
