'TOVER'S Tag Series...Part ll

Howdy Peeps....
If you are poppin' by for the first time....
Make sure to check out the tag from yesterday!!

Today....I want to share the second tag I whipped up
as part of my 'TOVER'S Tag Series!

I had dipped this tag in the left over ink from yesterday's tag!
....never wasting a drop!

I also needed to check techniques
I will be using an upcoming class.
Hence the UmWowSTUDIOS ~ Damaged Punchinella Background
colored with a mixture of Tattered Angels ~ Glimmer Glaze ~ Satchel
and Glimmer Mist ~ Roll Top Desk
.....LOVIN' the look!

The Petaloo blooms were already colored and matched PERFECTLY!!
I only had 2 ~ diecut ivy cut from a piece os
Tattered Angels ~ Pure Mistable Papers ~ Linen.
The leaves had been caught up in some "overspray"
so I pulled out a bottle of
Tattered Angels ~ Glimmer Glam ~ Lime Cordial
and painted the diecuts!

I had a bit of misc twine and lace
so I created a form of a "Loopy Bow"
to adorn my flower cluster!

Of course.....the tag had to say "SOMETHING"....
I scanned the pages of Tim Holtz ~ ChitChat stickers
and chose
"cherish, adore, love"

LOVE how the 'TOVER tag came together!!!

Have I inspired you to pull out your 'TOVER'S and
create something yet???

Pop on back on Friday for the last tag
in the series....and a little something
I have up my sleeve!!!

YOU WON'T WANT TO MISS IT!!

'TOVER Tag Series......

Hello my friends.....
I don't know about you but.....
I HAVE TONS of leftover flowers!
Between my Petaloo Design Team Projects....
designing classes and just
creating stuff for the rest of my design teams
I have lots of 'TOVERS!
those pieces parts that just
didn't turn out the way I planned....or
got caught up in the overspray
or just didn't get put back in their package.

I throw them into a basket I have on my work table.

Here is some of the GOODNESS from my 'TOVERS basket!

You may or may not have noticed,
there are all kids of tags, cards and
other goodies that I put in my basket with
"extra" product on them
You know....the left over texture mediums or paints
or sprays left on my Craft Sheet or stencils....
can't waste that stuff now!

Here is a piece of Canvas Corp Brands ~ C Flute Kraft
that I applied various 'TOVER Perfect Paint Mediums
through stencils. I then cut them into pieces to
create tags from.

Here is where the fun begins.....
I wanted to break from my typical color palette and branch out a bit,
so I pulled out a few of my Tattered Angels ~ Glimmer Mist.

And let the fun begin.....
Here is the first tag I made.

I have been working on a flower cut out....
the Navy Blue flower is the product of my trials!
Still a few more tweeks needed.

In my 'TOVERS basket I had the buckram rolled flower
so, I colored it with Amethyst and Crushed Shells Glimmer Mist.

I pulled out one of my UmWowSTUDIOS chippies.....
Vintage Wire Birdcage.
With my fingers, I applied a bit of
Perfect Paints ~ Raw Silk ~ Polishing Plaster
to my birdcage.
I spritzed it with a bit of Roll Top Desk
and dabbed on a bit of Stardust Stickles.

If you know me.....my creations need to say something!!
I used Tim Holtz Chitchat stickers.....
PERFECT!!

A bit of vintage lace,
cheese cloth and twine and there you have the
first of three in my 'TOVER Tag Series.

What do you do with your 'TOVERS???

MAKE SURE TO STOP BACK BY TOMORROW
to see the second tag!!!

Word of 2016

I don't know about you.....
but I don't find CHANGE to be an EASY THING....
in hindsight it usually is for the good....
but the path to get to the other side is not usually an easy one!

I decided I wanted to create
a canvas to showcase my word....

I began by pulling out the things that I love and hoard....
Vintage paper and lace
flowers
stencils and
my paint and texture.

I adhered vintage sheet music to my canvas with
Ranger's Multi Medium.
When dry, I pulled out
The Crafter's Workshop stencil ~ Tuscan Wall
When dry I applied a layer of

While the glaze was drying I began constructing my heart.....

The patchwork heart was constructed of papers from the
I adhered various vintage laces over
a few of the heart pieces along with a bit of

When my canvas was dry, I applied a few layers of
Rainstorm
Bright Gold
Aged Copper
and Cantaloupe.
Then, I adhered my heart with
Ranger Multi Medium ~ Matte.
I then used Faber Castell's Big Brush Pens to created
depth on and around the heart!

While sorting through my life....
I came across my stash of Tim Holtz Grungeboard!
OH THE LOVE.....
The letters in the Nature ~ Plain collection were just PERFECT!

I smeared on layers of
edged with my Big Brush Pen and
adhered with Ranger's Multi Medium ~ Matte.

Now to accent my heart.....
a bit of chicken wire

I applied Perfect Paints ~ White Stucco over a
When dry, I painted with Perfect Paints ~ Spanish Moss
and once again used my Big Brush Pen to edge.

What better way to show change....
then a BUTTERFLY!!
I used one from UmWowStudio
and dabbed on various layers of paint!

What is your word for the new year???

Six Years Ago.....

Six Years Ago....this month
I was contacted by the folks are Reminisce
announcing I was the GRAND PRIZE winner

I remember that day soooo CLEARLY!
I scared my entire family
as I let out a loud WHAAHOOOP!

So when the folks at Ella and Viv Paper Company
(sister company to Reminisce)
contacted me to showcase some of their new
paper collections.....I was HONORED!

Here is what I created with their
Vintage Backgrounds Collections.

I began my creation by pulling out a
12 x 12 Black Canvas by Canvas Corp Brands
and the GORGEOUS Vintage Background papers...

I cut the papers into various geometric shapes
and adhered the shapes to my canvas
using Ranger's ~ Multi Medium Matte.
When dry, I cut a heart from copy paper
and placed it on my canvas.
Then, I chose
The Crafter's Workshop ~ Organic Matter Stencil
and applied
rather heavy handily!

When it was dry,
I created a heart with some Lacelon,
a vintage plastic lace
and adhered it to the masked heart area.

This is when it get's scary....
I applied a mixture
of equal parts
and
and applied it over the entire canvas....
and waited!

After a minute or so
(which seemed like years)
I used baby wipes to remove the excess.
The results are SOOO WORTH the panic!

See how the the paint remained in the crevices!

With my finger, I applied various
to my heart....

which all matched SOOO WELL
with the Ella and Viv's Paper Company

I used Faber Castell ~ Big Brush Pen ~ Walnut Brown
around the edges of the heart to create depth!

To accent my canvas,
I pulled out a couple packages of
Lilac/Purple, Sienna and Mauve
to create my flower cluster.
I added leaves cut from Tim Holtz ~ Tattered Leaves
accented with

I finished off my canvas with one of my FAVORITE stamps

I stamped on a piece of
and adhered to it to my canvas

I hope you have enjoyed my creative process,
I KNOW I DID!
A BIG THANK YOU to folks at
for thinking of me and
giving me the opportunity to create with their
FABULOUS papers!

Thank You......THANK YOU!

HI PEEPS.....
I had the needed to make a few
THANK YOU cards....

Every month a new sketch will be introduced....
the sketch can be interpreted as a card, layout or altered piece!

You need to use at least one Die~Namites Die in your creation.

You have until the last day of the month to post your creation on your blog,
with mention of the Die~Namites Die used and a link back to the Die~Namites Dies blog.
Link your blog post, using Inlinkz, to the Die~Namites Die blog.

A random winner will be chosen from eligible participants
for a $25 Gift Certificate to the Die~Namites Dies

Here is my take on the sketch....

Die~Namites Dies April Sketch Challenge

I pulled out a few pieces of patterned paper from
Marion Smith's  ~ Motley and Never Grow Up Collections.
I began with the Self Portrait as the card base.

Die~Namites Dies April Sketch Challenge

I placed the Crafter's Workshop stencil ~ Cityscape
and applied Picked Raspberry ~ Distress Stain
through the stencil.

I then pulled out Mini Ledger Stencil
and applied Golden ~ Molding Paste
and dried it.

I applied Peeled Paint ~ Distress Stain
through the Paradise Stencil.
(I loved that it bled under the stencil!!)

Using various Marion Smith papers
I die~cut several

I colored one of "Nana's Flowers" with
Picked Strawberries ~ Distress Stain and
Peeled Paint ~ Distress Stain and then
spritzed it with a Gold Mist.

Die~Namites Dies April Sketch Challenge

I used the second die~cut of Nana's Flowers
to fill in the die~cut areas of the painted die~cut.

I then colored a few Petaloo ~ Mini Pearl Daisies
with a smidge of Picked Raspberry ~ Distress Stain
and applied them to the die~cut Nana's Flowers.

I had also cut out

which I ended up not using it on my "sketch" card
but created a second card with the
left~over pieces parts....

I used the "left~over" Nana's Flowers
as the backdrop for
the colored Beautiful Flowers.

I just LOVE how the patterned paper mixes so well
with the Picked Raspberries ~ Distress Stain.

I DO hope you will pull out a few of your
Die~Namites Dies and Play ALONG with US!

Howdy Peeps!!!

to join me and Ranger as we continue
to explore Melt Art....

But before we go any further....
If I had a bucket list....this would be right up
there at the top of my list....
the HONOR and PRIVILEGE  to
design for Ranger/Tim Holtz.

to find an email from Tim asking me

of SUPER CREATIVE people...
can I tell you....

The wheels began to turn!!
Now, if you know ANYTHING about me....
you know, I am all about flowers....
so I decided I would pull out my Melt Pot,
some Clear Beeswax and a few Petaloo Flowers....
and let the games begin!!

Here is what I came up with.....

The Wild Blossoms Darjeeling Collection by Petaloo
I used......began as white flowers.
I colored them with a Wild Honey Distress Reinker Mixture,
a dab or Fired Brick Distress Re~inker ink,
a spritz of Dylusions ~ Ink Spray....
and dipped 'em in a pan of Clear ~ Melt Art Beeswax....
VOILA!

I created a video tutorial on how I colored the flowers
and about the "dippin" process.

Hope you enjoy it!!!!
