I can be CHANGED.....

I like to be CHALLENGED...
I like to step outside of my creative box....
on this project I did JUST THAT!

I received my inspiration after discovering
the online flower delivery company BloomNation.
While popping around their website I came across their
Pinterest page and ALL THE beautiful boards.
Y'all know my LOVE FOR FLOWERS!

I perused their board ~ Home Inspiration
and created my own Inspiration Board.
I wanted this to be a BIG canvas,
but honestly it SCARED ME!
So, I went to my art journal to try my ideas out.
You can check out my blog post here.

I had to rethink my flowers as they are from
The Crafter's Workshop ~ Daily Buzz stencil
and wouldn't be large enough for my 16 x 20 canvas.

I knew exactly what I wanted to use!
I had recently purchased
Fabric Quarters and Gauze Fabric which were just PERFECT
for the idea I had rattling around in my head!

I created my own pattern and cut the flowers
and colored the fabric flowers with

The paint stiffened the fabric but not enough to my liking,
so I painted on a layer of Ranger ~ Multi Medium
to the back side of the flowers.
I dried, crumpled and created a pom pom centers
from various Canvas Corp Brands ~ Jute for my flowers.

I then cut various leaf shapes from the Fabric Elements ~ Gauze
and colored the fabric with
I attached the colored leaves to Paper Covered Wire with
Stem Wrap Tape purchased from Joann Fabric.

The background on my canvas was created by applying a layer of
vintage McCall magazine pages with Multi Medium.
I then applied a layer of Gesso,
followed by randomly placed bricks created with
The Crafter's Workshop ~ Brick stencil

I finished off my canvas with a quote that speaks
deeply to my heart!

I hope you have enjoyed my creative journey
I KNOW I DID!!
Thank you the flower delivery company
BloomNation for the opportunity to be
inspired by your Pinterest board
and for pushing my creative boundaries!

Textiles and Templates

I LOVE using textiles in my creations....
vintage fabrics, lace, burlap and canvas
are among my favorites.
So.....when I received my Canvas Corp Burlap Pillow Round...
I couldn't WAIT to play with it!!
.....and here is my finished product!
My Life Heart Pillow by Lynne ForsytheI do have to say this was my first try at stenciling on burlap....
I was very unsure of how it was going to work
due to the weave of the fabric and the density of the fibers...
but I was going to give it a try anyways!
I chose the Crafters Workshop ~ Quatrefoil Reversed 12x12 template and
a bit of Precious Metal Effect Paint ~ Mother of Pearl
and a makeup sponge,
.....can I say.... it worked WONDERFULLY!
Just a hint of color on the Canvas Corp Light Pink heart....PERFECT!
My Heart Pillow by Lynne ForsytheI just LOVE how it came out!
My Heart Pillow by Lynne ForsytheNow when it comes to stenciling on canvas....
to me.....that is easy peasy!
I used the Crafters Workshop ~ Mini Chickenwire Reversed 6x6
and Sketch Grid 12x12
and applied small amounts of
Precious Metal Effect Paint ~ Gold
with the same makeup sponge
and applied it to Canvas Corp ~ Mini Shapes ~ Flags
and a heart I cut from a Canvas Corp ~ 12 x 12 Canvas Sheet.

I accented the pillow with
Mother of Pearl Buttons and 7Gypsies Hardware and Metals.
My Heart Pillow by Lynne ForsytheI finished off my pillow with a Canvas Corp Burlap flower
accented with
more 7 Gypsies Hardware and Metal and a big ole Mother of Pearl button
and LOTS of hand stitching and Multi Medium to hold it all together.
My Heart Pillow by Lynne ForsytheI haven't decided yet if I am going to stuff it and use
it as a pillow or hang it on my wall....
WHAT do you think??
I hope you have enjoyed my experiment....
may just have to TRY this AGAIN!

Snow Wreath.....Canvas Corp and Petaloo!

Snow Wreath
Canvas Corp and Petaloo Crazy for Christmas Blog Hop!

When I opened my box filled with
Canvas Corp Canvases and Petaloo Flowers and Trims,
the first thing that popped into my mind was Winter,
all the beautiful hues of Teal and Purple.
I had recently purchased some silver snowflakes
from one of the big box stores and knew they would be the PERFECT
addition to my wreath. I then pulled out a Grapevine Wreath
from my stash and let the creative process begin.
I knew I wanted to create a half wreath,
something a bit different from the norm.

I wrapped the canvases with pieces of
Canvas Corp Burlap, Petaloo Fancy Trims and Vintage Lace
tied with Canvas Corp Jute and accented them with various Petaloo Flowers,
Textured Blooms, Velvet Hydrangeas, and Chantilly Mixed Blooms.

I then stacked the decorated canvases on the wreath.

I then created a focal point on my wreath, being the Canvas Corp Burlap Flower, wrapped with Petaloo Fancy Trim and accented with Canvas Corp ~ Canvas Fringe loopy bow and a bit more Canvas Corp Jute.

I hope you enjoyed my "Snow Wreath" and that it has inspired you to think outside of the box
when creating your holiday wreath to
adorn your front door, mantle or wall.

SMILE Canvas with Petaloo and Simple Stories

For those of you who may have missed my post
on the Petaloo blog yesterday......Here it is!!

When I opened my Design Team box that contained the
ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS
Petaloo ~ Penny Lane Flowers and
Vintage Bliss by Simple Stories,
it just about killed me
to have to wait to work with
these BEAUTIFUL PRODUCTS!!
But once I had a moment....
I pulled out all the goodness
and let the creative process flow.

LynneForsythe.blogspot.com

and can I just tell you....I had the time of my life!!

To add a cohesiveness to all the
different Petaloo flowers that were used,
I added some Precious Metal Effect Paint to the
edges of the flowers.

The basis for the canvas was the piece of
patterened paper that I just fell in love with.
Grey Wood ~ Vintage Bliss.
Using several Crafter's Workshop Stencils,
I applied layers of Gesso
and Wendy Vecchi's Embossing Paste.

Don't you just love the "SMILE"?
It was cut from one of the Simple Stories
papers and outlined with
a Pitt Big Brush Pen
which adds lots of depth!

I created a video tutorial of the above
Technique Tag for you to
further see how I created the canvas.
I hope you enjoy it!!

A White Christmas Tree

I wanted to share with you a post that was recently on the Petaloo Blog for the

with
and

Be sure to head on over to the Petaloo Blog
to see new DT creations
and for your chance to win a
basket of gooodies!!!

Tis the season of Gift Giving....
Tis the season to be Merry and Bright!!
So, what can one make....worthy of the above....
with one piece of Canvas Corp ~ White E~Flute Paper,
two packages of Petaloo ~ CMC~Wild Roses,
one Canvas Corp ~ Canvas Fabricpage,
and from my stash......
a jar of Emperor's Gold ~ Silks Acrylic Glaze,
one bottle of Luminarte ~ Radiant Rain Shimmering Mist,
miscellaneous stamps,
and a paper mache cone.

A BEAUTIFUL centerpiece
that can WONDERFULLY adorn any holiday table.

I began by separating the Canvas Fabricpage into two pieces.
I then tore one piece into 2" x 12" strips and
and cut (4) Tattered Leaves from each strip.
With various stamps, covered with Silk Acrylic Glaze,
I randomly stamped the leaves and
the other piece of the Canvas Fabricpage.
 Then, let the pieces dry.
When the leaves were dry,
I spritzed them with water,
and dipped the edges into puddles of mist.
When the leaves dried from this process,
I pinched the large portion of each leaf together
and stapled it together, giving the leaf more dimension.

Next, I took the white e~fluted paper,
and tore it into various size strips
(1"-1.5" wide) then into (4) pieces per strip.
(leaving a 4" x 12" piece leftover)

I sprayed each strip with Emperor's Gold ~
Luminarte Radiant Rain Shimmering Mist,
along with the CMC ~ Wild Roses.

When the strips were dry,
I rolled the ends of each piece
and spritzed the rolled ends.

I then assembled my tree
beginning at the bottom of the paper mache cone.
I topped off the tree with
(3) CMC ~ Wild Roses.

With the leftovers, I created a gift tag.
I pulled a bit of vintage lace
and a CMC ~ Canvas Flower
from my stash, along with a memo pin
to embellish the tag.

And there you have it....
A Heartfelt, Handmade Holiday gift
that can be enjoyed for years to come!

The artist is nothing without the gift,
but the gift is nothing without work.  ~Emile Zola
