Faith Hope Love

I think I've been through more in the last month
than I ever care to endure again!

Soooo....I spent my time last week
trying to be a bring a bit of organization
to my studio.....
Heaving and Hoooing "stuff"
ALL AROUND!

Can I just say....
I am soooooo EXCITED about some of the things
I have up my sleeve
....just saying!

But yesterday......
I had a "CREATE" day.
No agenda,
no deadline,
no assignment....

The background is complied of
lots of fun things....
Canvas Artboard,
vintage lace,
chicken wire,
dictionary paper,
plaster
and
Embossing Paste.

And there are MANY layers of
Primary Elements
Silk Acrylic Glaze
Gesso
and more
Silk Acrylic Glaze.
I have to say....
it was SOOOO FUN
experimenting with the product
....seeing how it reacted.
OHHHHHH THE LOVE!

I pulled out a bit of Vintage lace
and tied it around the Canvas Artboard.

I then went for a bit of Canvas Corp paper.....
Linen,
Handmade Chipboard
Kraft and White....
and a few of my Die~Namites Dies....
Leafy Branch
PomPom
Field Grasses
and I began diecutting!

NOW......for the COLOR!!
a little bit of
Primary Elements mixed
with Bind & Resist,
some Silk Acrylic Glaze,
a dab of Precious Metal Effect Paint,
and don't forget the Ferro!!

some vintage buttons,
a few fir cones,
 Mini Pearl Daisies
and finished off with....

....my TAKE!!

Hi Die~Namites Fans!!

I had the AWESOME pleasure of playin' along with
Die~Namites DT member Taniesa Vlasak's

Every month a new sketch will be introduced....
the sketch can be interpreted as a card, layout or altered piece!
You need to use at least one Die~Namites Die in your creation.
You have until the last day of the month to post your creation on your blog,
with mention of the Die~Namites Die used and a link back to the Die~Namites Dies blog.
Link your blog post, using Inlinkz, to the Die~Namites Die blog.
A random winner will be chosen from eligible participants

for a $25 Gift Certiļ¬cate to Die~Namites Dies

Now....I've spent the majority of my week
getting my "studio" up and running.
Needless to say.....
Not only did I use the sketch....
it was a 30 minute or less QUICKIE!!

....and because my "stuff" is an upheaval,
I pulled out a few papers from "Decked Out" collection
by Splash of Color.
Then I decided to challenge myself further
and only use what I had on my work surface....
which can I say was VERY LIMITED!

OH.....do you spy the Die~Namites Die????
It is the Pine Bough die.

I cut it from Canvas Corp ~ Kraft Chipboard Handmade paper.
I brushed on a bit of Viva Colour ~ Gold ~ Precious Metal Effect Paint
and gave the Pine Bough a spritz of water.
It wouldn't be me if I didn't scrunch the Pine Bough diecut up while it's drying.

So, not sure the "cut" candy cane image
"cuts" it for a tag! but it sure went well!!

AND....it wouldn't be me if there wasn't a flower
on my card....SOMEWHERE!
Don't you just love the Petaloo goodie??

I do hope I've inspired you to pull out one

....a technique tag!!

Howdy Peeps....
I wanted to share
with you a Technique Tag that I created!!
Lovetag
A while back,
I had the pleasure of attending
CKC ~ Lancaster, PA
with Cheryl Mezzetti
and working the Splash of Color booth.
What a WONDERFUL experience.
I came home TOTALLY INSPIRED!!
I had packed up a bag of creative goodies
to bring along with me....
just in case we had some free time to create.
(which NEVER HAPPENED!!)
So, as I was unpacking,
I decided to challenge myself to create with
only the contents of the bag.
There was no "STUFF" in my
bag so I did allow myself to pick
a few other Splash of Color products....
one texture,
one color of Silks
one package of Primary Elements
and one bottle of Precious Metal Effect Paint....
I began by coating the vintage bingo card,
cut into a tag, with Honey Amber ~ Silks Acrylic Glaze.
Love how it changed the tone of the bingo card!!
Lovetaghoneyamber
I then began playing with the 3pk of Primary Elements ~ Emperor.
I mixed (not completely)
the Olive Vine ~ Primary Elements with a bit of
Viva Colour ~ Amber Gold ~ Ferroand spread it through
a stencil.
While the Ferro was still damp,
I applied some of Plum Crazy ~ Primary Elements
with a #4 round paintbrush.
(Ferro is an adhesive while wet)
Lovetagferro
I then mixed a smidge of
Yellow Rose ~ Primary Elements
with Primary Elements ~ Clear Glaze Medium
and painted the chipboard frame.

Next, I mixed
Olive Vine ~ Primary Elements with
the Primary Elements ~ Clear Glaze Medium
to paint the diecut leaves.
Lovetagflower
Of course, I had to color a few flowers.

I began by spritzing the large flower with water,
then with a fan brush I applied
Blackeberry ~ Precious Metal Effect Paint to
the edges of the petals and sprized again with water.
I then mixed a bit of
Plum Crazy ~ Primary Elements with
a bit of Primary Elements ~ Clear Glaze Medium
and brushed it onto the flower.
Spraying at times with water to move/blend the colors.
If you look behind the flowers....
you will see a bit of vintage border paper
that I painted with the left over above mixture.
Did you know that you could use Primary Elements is
soooo many different ways???
Lovetagbottom
Hope you enjoyed my Technique tag....
I REALLY had FUN exploring the MANY different ways
Primary Elements can be used.
HOPE YOU enjoyed the journey with me!!

Art is....

Art is not a thing; it is a way.
 ~Elbert Hubbard

A way of life for me....
the aspect of my life that makes
the rest of my insane world.....
OK!!

This has been one of those
REALLY INSANE weeks!
Can I say.....
I needed my art to get me
through this one!!

So.......I pulled out some of my
FAVORITE SUPPLIES
and let the
creative process...
take me away!!

....my favorite supplies....
a bit of burlap,
some twine,
a piece of silk ribbon,
my new favorite flowers,
one of my dies....
and of course.....LOTS OF COLOR!

I began by cutting a piece of
watercolor paper
into the shape of a tag....
and followed the path
my imagination took me!!

.....and when I was done...
Life was ALL GOOD again!

"Love like there is.....
NO TOMORROW!"
