JUST CAUSE....

Spent some time this weekend making my Grungepaper Roses....just cause it's what I wanted to do. Then I decided to create something different with them. A while back I had picked up this bird house...so the creating process began....I've been very "MISTY" lately...so of course I would carry it on to this project...so I filled up my Mini Mister....added my Reinker ink and Perfect Pearls and "SPRITZED ON"!!

I applied Claudine Hellmuth's Gesso....and "MISTED" it..... adhered some old book pages with Claudine's Multi Medium.... misting again.... the ribbon is "MISTED" along with the twine....

So...there is my birdhouse....JUST CAUSE!!

Have a wonderful "Misty" day!!!

IT'S A GIRL......

Sophie Sims...one of the FABULOUS Zutter Zisters just a had a bouncing baby GIRL May 31...and her name is Sage....now how cute is that name!!!....and isn't she such a CUTIE!!

In celebration of Sage's arrival, the Zutter Zisters are having a Bouncing Baby Blog Hop!!

For this special occasion the Zisters each created a special Baby related item....I can't wait to see their creations!!!

I had tons of fun with my project....remember when the internet was a new thing and AOL used to bombard us with disks.....well I was able to get my hands on one of those metal boxes and used it to create a "Baby's First" case and book....

Supplies used....
DreamKuts (I love this for creating pages in minis!!)
Bind-it-All
Graphic 45 Baby to Bride paper
O-wire
Claudine Hellmuth's Studio Gesso & Multi Medium
Misc paints
Scallop punch
Distress Stickles
Thickers Alphas
Kaiser Flowers and Pearls
and I can't forget the AMAZING DISTRESS IT ALL!!!

I began by painting the box with Gesso, then mixed paints together to get the color I wanted.

I cut out a piece of paper to fit the cover and the letters BABY from the G45 paper and Distressed them and adhered them to the cover with Claudine's Multi Medium.

I then created a flower to accent the cover. It consist of a hand cut fabric flower, a 2 7/8" scallop circle and a 2 1/4" scallop circle, a "Floriano"flower (McGill punch) and some Kaiser flowers.

I used a template I had and cut a flower out of fabric as the background. I then took the (2) scalloped circles and cut into them to create petals, and man handled them for depth. I bent the petals on the "Floriano" for even more depth, adhered them all together and accented them with Distress Stickles...an added bonus.....I took (3) Kaiser flowers, folded them in the center and adhered them to the center of my flower to create this "cluster" look. Accented it the flower with ribbon and adhered it to the cover!!

To create the inside mini, I used my DreamKut Machine....which cut flawless pages....all the same size...OH THE JOY!!! Ran the pages....a group at a time, through the Distress It All....bound them with my Bind it All....and there you have it....a cute little book to place her "FIRST" pictures in....

To check out the other Zister project....here is a list to their blogs....and don't forget to stop by the Bind it All Blog..........

BTW......ALL the Zisters have prizes to give away!!! (check em out on the BIAblog) So leave a comment!!! I will be drawing a name on Friday, June 25th....so make sure you check back!

ZUTTERING........

So, I realized I have been rather slack this month regarding my Zutter Zisters......and I created some rather fab projects.

Now...this grunge-o-licious beauty is made totally out of grunge paper except for the leaves and the ribbon. Aren't those flowers just darling...formed,  highlighted with Liquid Pearls and colored with my Reinker mixtures, a mini mister filled with Reinker ink, water and Perfect Pearls.

And....oh la la...Tim Holtz's On the Edge Dies are just plain AMAZING!!! Each one of the page edges is different...just love this!! and of course my Bind it All... is JUST THE BEST!!

In case you are new to my blog....check out my tutorial on How to Make the Lovely GrungePaper Rose here.

Make sure to stop back here Monday for a special event....you don't want to miss it!!!

WELL NOW......

SSSSOOOO.....we got ALL THE NEW "Texture Fades" by Tim Holtz in the store, GENERATIONS OF MEMORIES, and I just couldn't resist....We also got some new paper backed canvas and corrugated paper from Creative Imaginations...which I couldn't resist either....

So....to try and get myself out of the slump from my rejected dt submission...I went back to all that I love...ink, embossing, paint, handmade flowers, lace and some misty stuff!! the stuff that just makes my soul feel good!!

Now, the really cool thing about that canvas paper...is when you run it through the Cuttlebug with Tim's Notepaper Texture Fade....it embosses it and remembers it.....oh the joy!! So, I went direct of canvas with Forest Moss Distress Ink....then misted away with my Reinker Mixtures using Victorian Velvet, Wild Honey and Bundled Sage...then I just couldn't resist dry brushing on some Claudine Hellmuths Studio Gesso!

I tore off a piece of corrugated paper using the Notepaper Texture Fade, the opposite way,  debossed the paper!! Spritzed away and dry brushed.

A while back I can across the find of my life...a satiny ribbon that just loves to take misty ink...I used a combo of Victorian Velvet and Bundled Sage.

The center ribbon flower is made from the same amazing ribbon.

And there you have it....the Card of the Week at Let's Capture Our Memories....HOW BOUT THAT??!?

I ALMOST FORGOT.......sneaks are up on the Bind It All blog showing the new "Zutter D's"....pop on over leave a comment and you could win some goodies!!!

there must be other plans......

So, the day came and went....no call...that must just means there is something else around the corner...just waitin' for me!!

I've decided to share a project I made for the call.....

I so love this layout of my daughter....HER DAY WILL COME!!

So, I was challenged over at LET'S CAPTURE OUR MEMORIES....to scrap a layout about ME...I don't know about you....but I hardly ever scrap myself. The layout needed to include journaling and stitching....so after searching for hours to find this picture...I knew I had printed it but it had been gobbled up on my work surface.

This is what I came up with..........

Now...the banner is made from canvas......it was sooooo fun....maybe it's tutorial time again....will have to see!!

There you have it!!! Will be busy the next couple days...working...designing...and off to watch the Woodsville Girls Softball team win the State Championship....Go Lady Engineers!!!

ALL IS RIGHT IN THE WORLD....

The birds are chirping....the sun will be shining....gonna create today then off to the Semi Finals to see the Woodsville High School girls.....KICK SOME SOFTBALL BUTT!! and today I WILL NOT FORGET MY CAMERA!

So, over the weekend my boy turned 15...I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!! he's grown an 1 1/2" in the last few months...his voice is changing....AAAAAHHHH!!

To celebrate this occasion...I created a few layouts using the sketches created by the Sketch-k-teers over at Let's Caputure These Sketches. They are having a Birthday Bash Celebration....the site is turning "ONE".

Layouts of my daughter just flow with lace and flowers but it TRULY IS A STRETCH to scrap layouts of my boy....especially now that he's 15!! Def can't have any "PRETTY" stuff going on there!

So, I decided that I would use Guylaine's June 6th sketch...Now, each of these sketches has a challenge....OMW...I got them ALLL mixed up...this originally was monochromatic (not Guylaine's challenge...hers is to use black letters) using Basic Grey's Cappella papers...then I decided I wanted to use a Glimmer Mist Screen and Raven Glimmer Mist....I learned an important lesson....try it on scrap paper first. It came out a little heavier than I anticipate, but it turned out OK...I then took the GM covered screen and used it like a stamp in the lower right corner. I added a layer of Coffee Shop Glimmer Mist, stitched, distressed, painted, rolled and just had fun with it!! I used one of my GrungePaper Roses...If you haven't seen my tutorial yet you need to CHECK IT OUT!!

I had to take a picture of brother and sister, on this special occasion.....there are so few of them now a days especially without them making some goofy face!!! I must say....I rather like this picture!! I used Tara's sketch for this layout, her challenge was to use something with wings! I used Basic Grey's new Max & Whiskers (a dog & cat collection....not just for animal layouts!!!)

OK...so I am still in shock about this whole birthday thing....but this too shall pass...now off to create some more layout....and then to watch the Lady Engineers KICK BUTT.....GO GREEN!!
