Believe.......

There is another card sketch up at Let's Capture These Sketches!!

It is a wonderful sketch #26 created by Rusha.

The possibilities are limitless!!

Here is my take on her sketch.......

I created a ruffle effect by sewing down the center of a piece of pleated paper. I then went back in and lifted the edges to add a bit of depth to the card.

The rosette behind the flower was created by punching along the edge of a strip of paper and scoring at intervals.....great effect!!

I die cut some flowers for Crinoline and colored them with various Distress Reinker Mixtures.

.........and the papers.......OH you must know....
by Lily Bee Designs.......
Don't you JUST LOVE THEM???

So put on your thinkin' caps.......pull out some supplies and create a card......be sure to link it to blog post!! Can't wait to see whatcha create~

She's a BEAUTY.....

....and I made her using Lily Bee Design papers,
Glue Arts Extreme Adhesives, Vintage zippers and lace,
and a few punches.
OMW.......I had so much fun with these papers!!

This was my first time working with Lily Bee papers, can I just say....
I LOVE THEM!!! The diverse patterns, the FABULOUS colors....
A~MAZING to say the least!!

I used papers from several different collections on my "LADY"
DOMESTIC BLISS
THIS AND THAT
STATIONARY
PICKET FENCE
and they all meshed together BEAUTIFULLY!!

Last, but NEVER least
......I created a flower to accent "HER" bustier!!
A little paper, a little Crinoline, a bit of coloring with Scattered Straw and a brad to accent!

I just LOVE "HER" bright Springy look........gives me hope that the 2 feet of snow still in my yard will GO AWAY........and be replaced with green grass!! A girl can dream right!!

I hope you have enjoyed my "LADY" as much as I did creating her......
had to release all the pent up CREATIVITY from the weekend!!

My name is Lynne Forsythe and I hail for the little but beautiful state of New Hampshire where I reside with two teenage children. I  began my paper crafting journey a little over 5 years ago and what a WONDERFUL journey it has been. I work part time at my LSS, Generations of Memories, where I teach/design for, buy for....well pretty much everything except pay the bills...hehehe. I am on several manufacturer design teams and have been published a few times, my all time dream is to be in Somerset Memories.  I would typify my creating style as Shabby INKY Grunge. Most of all....I LOVE FLOWERS and greatly enjoy creating handmade flowers.

You may have heard me say this before.....I LOVE SKETCHES. The fact that it is a great way to spur creativity. A way to get those juices going. You may find in the end your creation looks alot like the sketch or very little because you let it take you down a creative path!!

Here is my take on this sketch.......

I created the flowers using Donna Salazar's "Blank Canvas" paper........

Speaking of which, I am so excited to say I was chosen to be one of her Guest Designers
in the upcoming year!! Yippeeee!!

we are all STARS!!

.......so therefore this weeks challenge at Simon Says Stamp and Show should be a snap!!!

I titled my banner Happy Spring......but I have to tell you....the shutter my banner is attached to is stuffed in a snowbank and it was spitting snow while I was taking these pictures......oh but it's coming!!

I began with Canvas Corp ~ Canvas Stars. They were colored with Butterscotch and Red Pepper Color Wash along with Vintage Photo Distress Stain. I first sprayed the stars with water to slight saturation then I dipped the edges in the pools of color and watched the color wick into the canvas. Then I dried the stars a bit and used my Vintage Photo Distress Stain around the edges.

To strengthen the burlap tags I painted on Matte Multi Medium
I then ran my Vintage Photo Distress Stain around the edges.

Each of the flowers began as a neutral color which I changed using Wild Plum, Purple Twilight and Sunset Orange Color Wash and Butterscotch and Red Pepper Color Wash
Fabrics used were Linen and Crinoline.

The denim used was from an old pair of jeans!!

and I spy Tim Holtz Alpha Parts!!

And I have to say....the splash of PURPLE set the banner off nicely!!

There you have it......STARS!!

Now....it's your turn!! Link your creation up to the Simon Says Stamp and Show blog.....and who knows you could win this....

I used "Hollywood" from the Celebration Series for my layout.....it was just perfect to showcase photos of my niece wearing her mask that we made together on our "crafting day"!

Do you see, I mounted the sticker film strip on a piece of cardboard and adhered cut down wallet sized photos to it? And the center of the red flower is die cut from one of the patterned papers??!?

OMW..........Don't you just love the barrier rope sticker from the 12x12 sticker sheet...totally sets off the paper border strip!

And those stars punched from gold Glitter Factory paper set of the entire layout just fine!!!

Just tooooooooo CUTE!!.......if I do say so myself!! hehehe

hmmmmmm......

Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge Blog says......

SOME METAL!!

sooo I thought.......hhhhhmmmmm Metal it is!! I began to ponder and wonder if I could use my Treading Water border punch and Ten Seconds Studio Metal....and low and behold....it worked!!! I was sssssooooo EXCITED. I cut a piece of metal, ran it through my Swiss Dots embossing folder, border punched the metal and created shingles. I adhered them to the roof with Multi Medium!

I painted the wooden birdhouse with Lettuce acrylic paint. Then I adhered G45 "Once Upon A Springtime" oooohhh can't get enough of this paper!!

I accented the face of the house with buttons (a DT gift from Simon Says Stamp) and see the door.....it's an upside down Keyhole.

Of course, it had to have a flower garden. I crocheted and colored 2 flowers, then there are my Grunge Paper Roses and 2 metal Foliage flowers. I attached the flowers to Memo pins with Glossy Accents.

And do you see those wings......OMW I just love them. I cut them out of cardboard, peeled off some of the paper, the places where the paper was left, I painted with Picket Fence Crackle Paint. I then inked the paint and dabbed on a bit of Distress Stickles. I adhered them with the ever amazing Multi Medium.

I have to say I think my favorite part of my birdhouse is the vintage thread spools and I have no idea where I got them from.

So......when you think of Metal....what creative ideas pop into your mind???

Link your creations to the Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge Blog.....and you could win this....
