Canvas Corp Goodness!!!

Can I just say........I LOVE the Black and Kraft paper by Canvas Corp. As soon as I got my hot little hands on them I knew exactly
what I wanted to do.

Being from the North Country.....the flowers are all gone.....the leaves have fallen and it looks rather barren. Sooooo to help get through this time I wanted to create a
floral wreath to bring life into my home!

To create all this floral goodness.....I gathered up a sundry different Sizzix dies including
Tim's Tattered Floral die, some Distress Stains and Perfect Pearl Mists.

I diecut flowers from the amazing Black and Kraft papers.
I cut into the smallest flower to create little petals.

Using Distress Stains, I colored both sides of the diecut flowers.

I then crumpled the flowers.

I layered and adhered the flowers together.
Then spritzed them with Perfect Pearls Mist.

I also used a bit of burlap around the grapevine wreath and some fabby white cording.....
more Canvas Corp goodies!!!
Hope you've enjoyed this tutorial as much as I did creating it!!!

Love this ONE!!!

RECYCLE/UPCYLE

What kind of creative ideas does that conjur up in your head! The teamies of
Simon Says Stamp and Show want to know!!

Every one have jems just hanging around there house that need a new/different purpose!! And I knew exactly what I wanted to do..........

I am a huge fan of looking at things and trying to see something other than what an objects was designed for. That's what I did with these Shabby Stars,
who's true purpose was to be Christmas ornaments!

Using a Drill Punch, I created holes on the star tips, which I then put large jump rings through to attach the stars together. Using Multi Medium (in the squirt bottle)
I outlined the stars and sprinkled on some Vintage Glitter Glass.

Here is where the true fun began........the use of my brand spankin' new Tattered Pinecone die!! Being from the north country.....I love the little fir pinecones. I used to collect them by the bagful! Now, I can make my own....whoooo hooo. I made my pinecones out of the Kraft Resist paper, that was inked using Gathered Twigs......LOVE THAT INK!!!

I then went to my scrap drawer and pulled out various colors of green Bazzill for the sprigs. I dabbed on a bit of Rock Candy Distress Stickles to give the look of snow. A word of caution.....I tried to put the Rock Candy Distress Stickles on the inked pinecone but notices it was starting to soak up the ink color so I removed it! I adhered everything, including the vintage ribbon,
to the stars with globs of Multi Medium.

And how beautiful velvet Poinsettias from Petaloo were just the icing on my Star Banner!

This banner will look just BEAUTIFUL on my sisters Mantle!!! sssshhhh don't tell her!!

So what visions come to your mind??? I can't wait to see your lovelies linked up over at
Simon Says Stamp and Show......
Who knows......you could be the lucky recipient of this weeks.......

Now.....the Holiday's are ALL ABOUT MAKING LISTS (Santa's not the only one you know!!)
so I created this HANDY DANDY....
HOLIDAY NOTE PAD!!
(need some organization in all this chaos!!)

I began with a piece of Zutter Corrugated Board which I cut to size.
I then peeled off the top layer and lathered on multiple layers of paint.
I then pulled out some Beautiful Christmas papers by
Reminisce ~ A Christmas Story and Dear Santa
and a Gorgeous Velvet Poinsettia by Petaloo!

I cut a "spindly flower" from a piece of the SOOOON to be released
Frosted Plastic
and added a bit of Stickles for Bling!

I wanted to divided my Note Book into sections and I did so with edged pages of the
Frosted Plastic which I then embellished with Reminisce Stickers.

I then assembled my Note Book with the AMAZING Bind~it~All and some O~Wire!

Hope you've enjoyed my creation....

Home Sweet Home...

Have you ever had a challenge where you think you have a "GREAT IDEA" only to follow through with it and find it wasn't such a good idea.....well that's what happened this with week with...
A House.....
our theme for this weeks challenge a Simon Says Stamp and Show!

I had an idea.....worked and worked on it only to find.....
NOPE that's not gonna work. So I scrapped it and started ALL OVER AGAIN!
but this time the project just flowed!!

I had wanted to create a "Brick House" look.....and this is how I did it..
I began with a 3 x 3 Canvas Corp Canvas
painted it black with Black Gesso
When dry, I pulled out my Mini Brick Template and painted
on a layer of Gesso....a bit thick to have a textured look.
When dry I painted on a Color Wash created using
Modern Red
Altered Orange and
Sable Brown...
(the only carry over from the first project!!)

With the Black Gesso still out I painted a few Art Parts
Large Flourish Frame and
pieces from the Arts Parts Sample Pack

Then I had another brain storm.......stamp using
the large background stamp from
and
Traditional Tan Paint
Love the look!!!

And all the Canvas Corp Goodies
Mini Clothes Pins
Mini Triangle Canvas Shapes
and a piece of Canvas,
stamped with Jet Black Archival
and cut to the Arts Parts Flower shape.

Now, I've been rather curious about the Glassine paper so I thought......
what the heck....
let's try something
So, I tore off a sheet, ran it through my Big Shot
and embossed it using my fave embossing folder,
then noticing I had TONS of my color mixture left
I painted it on......Love the Look!

Soooooo, there you have it.......
my HOME SWEET HOME wall hanging!!

What images come to mind when I say...
A House.....
I would LOVE TO SEE!!

Be sure to link your creation up to the Simon Says Stamp and Show Blog.....

and as with EVERY WEEK....
Simon Says will be giving away this gooodie!!
