Been havin' some fun!!!

So.... I noticed I had been in a rut...and as I always say, "Using a Good Sketch will help get you out of a rut!!!"... so I popped over to my new FAVE sketch site....Capture these Sketches and decided to play along with them!!! I went through lots of sketches before I found on that would really stretch me...it was a sketch with LOTS OF WHITE SPACE. I chose Sketch #2 by Natalie and here is my take on this sketch.

I decided to try doing something different with ribbon so I came up with this little ditty!!! I folded the ribbon and tied it together with a Vintage Thread.

The paper used is by My Minds Eye...Spider Web and Creative Imaginations Diecut.

Of course, I had to use a splash of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist - Copper!! and my ALL TIME FAVORITE saying!!!

"We don't remember days, we remember moments" Cesare Pavese.

So....pop on over...pick a sketch and try it out...I would love to see the page you create!!!

I also had the opportunity to teach at a Scrapbook Retreat put on by Scrappin' Soul Sisters at the Beacon. I got to see some of my gal pals....Paula and Pauline...the theme of the weekend was, "What happens at the Beacons, stays at the Beacon". Tooooo Funny! Thank you to the ladies who took my class....I taught this class...see my Oct 18th post....I might just have to teach it at Generations of Memories....so ladies, this is post #97...in my next post I will show a pict of the RAK I will be giving away....till then CREATE...IT'S A GREAT THOUGHT DIVERTER!

Yesterday was a rather nerve wracking day!!! Firstly, I didn't feel well....the bug that's been going around tried to jump on me...only got a slight bite, but still enough to keep me out of work! My coworkers didn't need this...that's for sure....

I was also the day for the big announcement for the 2009-2010 ZutterZisters Design Team...you never know how those things are going to go!

Needless to say.....I MADE IT!!! Along with some other very talented ladies!!!

Fleur Smith, BC, Canada
Sophie Sim, Australia
Linda Elbourne, UK
Pam Sandy, Michigan
Shelley Haganman, Iowa
Camilla Isaksson, Sweden
Sarah de Guzman, California
Lynne Forsythe, New Hampshire
I am soooooooooooo looking forward to working with the ladies and the other Zisters....as well as the OZZ, they are ladies from the previous Design Team who will also be hanging around!

The Belated Birthday Girl

So here she is....in all her glory surrounded by her friends...Celebrating her 16th b-day...boy how time flies....just doesn't seem like that long ago she was turning 6 little lone 16!!

Now comes the letting go process...."Train a child in the way she should go...and when she is old she will not turn from it!" I think this is one the hardest parts of having a child is trusting them to make the right decisions based on what they have been taught! I love you my girl!!

Now onto to other thing before I just get way toooo sappy!! I realized I had never posted a picture of my finished Advent Calendar!

I do think it is missing something... Maybe it's that there is no star... think I will need to add that!! The "bulbs" are removable and are attached with Velcro... hope my niece like it!!

I used my Bind-it-all to hold all the pieces together so they are movable therefore, making it easier to store till next Christmas!! I was thinking about teaching this as a class...I def would need to simplify though...took me two days to make!

And it is far cuter in real life...It's hard to see the blingage on the "bulbs" from this picture!

the BIG PARTY is today!

So, TODAY is the big day....my daughter's SWEET 16 Birthday BASH!!!

Yes, her birthday was in August but we find most of her friends are away on vacation at that time and this was the first weekend since school started that we have been able to get a weekend that everyone had off!!

I have always wanted to make a banner...so here it is, this is one of two...it is probably WAY to phrew...phrew...for my daughter...but it is a SWEET 16 PARTY!

The other banner says...Happy 16th...but it's tooooo big to photograph!!

I cut 8" x 6" pieces of paper.

Marked the 6" side at 3" and cut out the triangles. I then decorated the triangles. DON'T throw away the leftover pieces....made something cool out of them....

Using my Bind it All...I punched holes in the tops of the triangles and attached them with ribbon and O-Wire .

Every birthday party requires party hats....and just any ole hat wouldn't do!! So, with the leftover triangles I created this "Sweet 16" Crown!!
