Hi Peeps!
I am honored to bring this post to you!
My friend, Candy Rosenberg, posted she was releasing
FABULOUS products at Creativation 2019.
I was SOO HAPPY for her!
Then she messaged ME asking
if I could create something using her products.
my answer....OF COURSE I could!!
I knew EXACTLY what I was going to do....
You see while wandering through Walmart one day,
with my bestie, Peggalish, I came across
a pair of wooden wings on a stand.
I HAD TO HAVE IT.
I picked it up and noticed it was all whobbly and it even fell apart.
.....but I HAD TO HAVE IT!
SO, I think I paid a whole $1.75
and brought it home.
As a result, I pulled the wooden wings out
removed the Christmas decoration from the front
and proceeded to pull out a few of my FAVORITE PRODUCTS!
A Vintage Girl
Wicked Wings

Tattered Angels
Light Gold, Metallic White High Impact Paint

The Crafter's WorkshopWhite Gesso

Vintage Photo ~ Distress Oxide
So, I let the mono printing begin!!
FYI....I used a piece of Tissuestock as my paint palette
which I would in turn use as part of the wings.
which I would in turn use as part of the wings.
Just after I had finished mono printing with the various paints,
I stamped with White Gesso all over the sheets
adding texture and continuity to the papers.
adding texture and continuity to the papers.
I even stamped on a piece of thin fabric.
LOVE IT!!
After everything was dry,
I diecut the wings making sure to cut pieces for the left and right sides.
(papers facing up and then papers facing down)
I painted Multi Medium ~ Matte to the backsides of the fabric leaves.
When dry, I proceeded to man handles all of the wing pieces.
But they weren't standing apart enough,
consequently, I pulled out my Distress Oxide ~ Vintage Photo.
I then rubbed it onto my craft mat. Just after, I spritzed it with a bit of water
and applied it to the edges of the wings with my finger.
Just after they were all distressed and dry, I let the wing building begin!
I almost forgot, I also "aged" the wooden wings.
I just LOVED how it was coming together.
Now, for the piece de la resistance
Wicked Wings ~ Small
I dabbed on various colors to give the wings an aged metal look!
I then pulled out a bowl of bits and baubles....
and found the PERFECT addition
to the Wicked Wings ~ Small
a vintage earring and a gear from the
Steampunk Gear Set.
I finished off the stand by "aging" the wood
using Archival Inks.
My finished project....
and "gave her Wings"!
PS....see the bricks on the stand base??
my last finishing touch......
They are from
Bricks.
