....gave her WINGS!

Hi Peeps!
I am honored to bring this post to you!
My friend, Candy Rosenberg, posted she was releasing
 FABULOUS products at Creativation 2019.
I was SOO HAPPY for her!
Then she messaged ME asking
if I could create something using her products.

my answer....OF COURSE I could!!

Wicked Wings, A Vintage Girl, Canvas Corp, ArtFoamies, Tattered Angels, Ranger Ink

I knew EXACTLY what I was going to do....
You see while wandering through Walmart one day,
with my bestie, Peggalish, I came across
a pair of wooden wings on a stand.
I HAD TO HAVE IT.
I picked it up and noticed it was all whobbly and it even fell apart.
.....but I HAD TO HAVE IT!
SO, I think I paid a whole $1.75
and brought it home.

As a result, I pulled the wooden wings out
removed the Christmas decoration from the front
and proceeded to pull out a few of my FAVORITE PRODUCTS!

So, I let the mono printing begin!!
FYI....I used a piece of Tissuestock as my paint palette
which I would in turn use as part of the wings.

Just after I had finished mono printing with the various paints,
I stamped with White Gesso all over the sheets
adding texture and continuity to the papers.

I even stamped on a piece of thin fabric.
LOVE IT!!

After everything was dry,
I diecut the wings making sure to cut pieces for the left and right sides.
(papers facing up and then papers facing down)

I painted Multi Medium ~ Matte to the backsides of the fabric leaves.
When dry, I proceeded to man handles all of the wing pieces.

But they weren't standing apart enough,
consequently, I pulled out my Distress Oxide ~ Vintage Photo.
I then rubbed it onto my craft mat. Just after, I spritzed it with a bit of water
and applied it to the edges of the wings with my finger.

Just after they were all distressed and dry, I let the wing building begin!

I almost forgot, I also "aged" the wooden wings.
I just LOVED how it was coming together.

Now, for the piece de la resistance
Wicked Wings ~ Small

I dabbed on various colors to give the wings an aged metal look!

I then pulled out a bowl of bits and baubles....

and found the PERFECT addition
to the Wicked Wings ~ Small
a vintage earring and a gear from the
Steampunk Gear Set.

I finished off the stand by "aging" the wood
using Archival Inks.

The File Folder Has it!

SOOO...a few Crew Members were given a Social challenge....
watch Shannon Green's video on making File Folders...
and see where it lead us!!

My thoughts....just because I ALWAYS have to mess with things
....I really don't need any more file folders
....but this might be a kinda cool idea for a mini album.

So, upon my return to my studio...I watched Shannon's video
and let the creating begin!
SADLY, I have had internet and modem issues and
the video I created couldn't be loaded so....
finished PICTURES it is!!

To create my "folder"I pulled out
2 sheets of patterned paper from
7gypsies ~ Gypsy Seamstress Collection
12 x 12 Tape Measure
12 x 12 Buttons

I chose to fold the Buttons paper at 8", creating a deeper pocket
I then cut a 6"x 12" pieces of
Tape Measure and adhered them together.
I then cut my folder in half.
My mini album measures 6" x 8".

I painted each of the pages with a 50/50 mixture of Gesso and
Perfect Paints Glaze Medium.
I love the texture of the Gesso with the transparency of the glaze.

Now......this is when I became impressed with the
7gypsies ~ Gypsy Seamstress paper...

I layered on Perfect Paints Polishing Plaster,
then spritzed and splattered with Glimmer Mist
AND MY ALBUM IS FLAT!!! LOVE IT!!!

Now, I love to tell on myself,
I recently had a conversation
that I have thousands of photos on my phone
and NEVER PRINT THEM OUT!!
SO....I went to my phone and
printed pictures of the family last Thanksgiving
to fill my mini album!

I have to say.....
Yvonne Blair Designs/Impression Obsession ~ Words for Art stamp set
was PERFECT to capture my thoughts!

I pulled out a piece of CCB Handmade papers
various colored Burlap and a bit of Flute to accent my photos.

Well.....there you have it!
My take on the "Make your own folder Challenge"!!
What inspiration did you get when you watched Shannon's video??
I WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOU CREATIONS!!

I FINALLY was able to resolve my internet issue....
here is my video...
or should I say part of my video...
I got caught up in creating and forgot to turn
my camera back on!!
HOW DO I SURVIVE this thing called life!??!??!

COLOR MY WORLD.......

I am not a huge fan of drama.....
I JUST LOVE TO CREATE!!
and my creative world was placed on tilt
recently and it left me in a TOTAL creative panic!

So....when things like this happen...
YOU REGROUP
RE~EVALUATE
and BEGIN AGAIN!

That is just what I did yesterday....
I dusted off my stash of
Tattered Angels..
created a new color bible...
and began to play
having ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA
where I was headed
just reacquainting myself with
how the products worked.

I began with a 6x6 stretched Canvas by Canvas Corp.
Pulled out a bit of
Tissuestock ~ Kraft
Printed Canvas ~ Black French Script
Printed Burlap ~ Tile
I collaged the textures randomly
onto my canvas
using Ranger ~ Multi Medium.
Then I let the experimentation begin!!
I sprayed....
I painted....
I spritzed with water...
I used the Peacock Stencil by The Crafter's Workshop
with a bit of Golden Molding Paste
and Sprayed more...
until I achieved the background I was looking for.

I then pulled out the new Textured Elements by Petaloo ~ Ivory
which I proceeded to color
with Plain Jane Baseboard ~ Red Rocks
and accented it with
Glam ~ Just Peachy
OHHHH THE LOVE!

See the Mini Pearl Daisy I accented with the Red Rocks??!??!
The were originally teal....just PERFECT!

Using Canvas Corp Handmade Paper....
I diecut Field Grasses from a piece of
Flocked Ivory Damask
and
I diecut 2 ~ Leafy Flourish from
Mistable Papers ~ Linen White.
I colored all of the diecuts
with various combinations of
Glimmer Mist:
Blarney
English Ivy
Kraft
to accent my newly colored Textured Element Flower...
and then I put it ALL TOGETHER
with my all time favorite Multi Medium by Ranger
with the following quote...

"If you find a path with no obstacles....
it probably doesn't lead anywhere"
Frank A. Clark

thank you for joining me as I
continue on my path...
clearing this last obstacle!!

Today....IS THE DAY!!!

I am so excited to say
TODAY IS THE DAY....

we can spill the beans....

WELCOME Die~Namites Dies!!!
A new diecut company!!

Above is a little creation I made using

I cut (2) full images from a piece of Canvas Corp
Handmade Paper.

One was colored black....
The other Green with
Twinkling H20's.

I then cut (2) each of the "Daisies"
from the same Handmade Paper.

I colored them with Various Twinkling H20's.

The background was created by
apply Gesso to the Burlap Canvas
through TCW "Mini Bricks" template.
When dry, I used a palette knife to
randomly apply both
Viva Colour ~Amber Gold and Golden Green Ferro,
through the same template.
