Pantone Color of the Year ~ Ultra Violet

Welcome to the Pantone Color of the year ~ Ultra Violet challenge.
I have to say....violet or purple is not my favorite color to work with!
So, I decided to just jump in with both feet......
I pulled out a piece of Canvas Corp ~TissueStock
several stencils and a couple of colors of Violet
and a few tubs of The Crafter's Workshop ~ Modeling Paste
and began layering the colors.

As I said previously, I REALLY struggled with the purple.
So, to help tone it down a bit,
I pulled out a bit of Tattered Angels ~ Glimmer Glam ~ Bon Bon
and dropped color onto my "made paper".

....even with all the layers, the TissueStock was still a bit flimsy
so I decided to adhered it to a piece of vintage sheet music.

As I was diggin' in my 'Tovers pile,
I found another piece of "made paper" with the same color palette
and a light bulb came on in my head.

I began to tear up my "made paper" and
adhered it to my found 'Tovers "made paper".

But, I still wasn't  TOTALLY happy so
I pulled out a bit of cheese cloth
and applied it to my "paper".

Then, I stenciled on a bit more of the Crafter's Workshop ~ Modeling paste.

...but it still wasn't quite finished yet.
So, I dropped a bit more "violet" onto my paper
and finished it off with some splatters
of The Crafter's Workshop ~ Gesso.

YEAH....now I was happy with my "Made Paper".
I cut it up into ATCs and made a few cards.

Here are my finished Ultra Violet cards....

Hope you enjoyed my journey of "Ultra Violet".

My Metallic Princess

Hi Everybody....
We've made it into the new year....2018
A new year calls for some new product.
....and I got my hands on the
NEW RELEASE
from The Crafter's Workshop.

And off I went, trying out the new product.
I ran it through stencils,
I lathered it on with a palette knife.
I applied it to fabric and paper.
The only thing I found is it wasn't
fond of having the drying
process accelerated by using a heat tool
but still faired well!

I applied a bit of Canvas Corp Tissue Stock
to a piece of CC Cardstock ~ Kraft.
Then I began the layering.
And layer I did....7 of them in fact
using TCW stencils, new and old.

I LOVED how this paper felt when I was finished
....almost like leather. Textured leather that is!

Now, what to make with my new paper??!??!
I went digging through my box of naked bases
and found a Chunky ATC.

I painted my wooden ATC with TCW paint.
Can I tell you it was hard to cut this paper
....but I did!

While my block was drying, I went in search of wing material.
I decided on a piece of CC Flute ~ Kraft
and I applied layers of Metallic Modeling paste.
Now, I have no idea what the tool is I used but
I ran it down the grooves of the paper
and let the modeling paste dry.

I then cut up the strip of paper and adhered it to my block.
I pulled out a bag of mixed wood parts
and picked out a few and painted them
with the modeling paste.
(it had great coverage)

I used Sizzix/Tim Holtz Distressed Doily
to cut the Metallic Princess' wings.

I painted a few vintage buttons with
the Modeling Paste and it worked WONDERFULLY,
one coat did the job.

I even pleated the paper and the Modeling Paste didn't crack!

She wouldn't be a princess without a crown.
I pulled out my UmWowStudio ~ Crown Mash,
picked a crown and painted it with more Modeling Paste.

This product gets a two thumbs up from me!

I hope you have enjoyed my creative journey.
I still have more paper so be watching
to see what else I make.

Guesting at Eclectic Paperie!!

Howdy Peeps.....I am guest designing for
Eclectic Paperie again!!!

What a week it has been.....
and I have to admit....this week
my "get up and go".....
got up and LEFT!

I ACTUALLY had to force myself
to create.....YES ME!

So....I just jumped in....
with no plan and NO IDEA
what I was going to create!!

I pulled out the
and just BEGAN!

I randomly colored on the box with the Gelatos...

I then spritzed the "colored" box with water.

With the Stipple brush
I swooshed the water around,
blending the colors.

I then pulled out a package of
Christy Tomlinson's ~ Coffee Filter Words,
and tore a sheet into strips.
I dipped my paintbrush into
a jug of Claudine Hellmuth's ~ Multi Medium ~ Matte,
and applied it to the box....randomly!!
I squinshed up the torn pieces in the
Multi Medium.

When dry, I then applied a layer of
Viva Colour ~ Crackle Base Coat for Porous Surfaces,
to the blank areas.
When dry I applied a liberal coat of
Viva Colour ~ Black Crackle Paint.
(these supplies will be arriving in the
epShop SOON!!)

I love how the Gelatos show through the cracks!!

(Now this is when the creative juices kicked in
and I forgot to keep taking pictures......SORRY!)

I sliced off a bit of the "Aqua Dolce" Gelato
and mixed it with a puddle of
Claudine Hellmuth's ~ Gesso.
I did have to spritz the mixture with water occasionally.

I then applied the mixture through Dyan's
Dylusions Stencil ~ Checquered Dots
with the Stipple Brush.

Now if you know anything about my style....
you know there
HAS TO BE a FLOWER involved somewhere!!

I pulled out a package of CMC ~ Darjeeling flowers,
a bottle of Butternut Shimmering Mist,
and sliced of another chunk of the
"Aqua Dolcue" Gelato
which I spritzed with water on my Craft Mat.
I also spritzed a puddle of the Butternut Shimmering Mist
on my Craft Mat.
I then spritzed the flower with water
and let the coloring begin!!

I cut different size leaves from a piece of
Patterned Paper from the
Bo~Bunny Mama~razzi 6x6 paper pad.

I rubbed some Forest Moss Distress Ink on my craft mat,
spritzed it with the mist.
I then painted the mixture onto the leaves.
I then dabbed on some
Shabby Shutters ~ Distress Stickles.

Here is the end result of my
"unmotivated" creative time!!

Hope you've enjoyed my little project!!
Do come back next week for
another creation!!

Guest DT ~ Eclectic Paperie

Howdy Peeps...

I am BEYOND EXCITED to have been
asked to be May's Guest Designer
for Eclectic Paperie.
Totally and HONOR and a PRIVILEGE!

For my first creation, I made a canvas.

http://lynneforsythe.blogspot.com/

I began by placing an Artist Stencil by Donna Downey/Prima
on a Canvas Corp ~ 6" x 6" Stretched Canvas.
I painted Multi Medium ~ Matte through the stencil.

http://lynneforsythe.blogspot.com/

I then, colored on the Canvas with various "blue" Gelatos.
Spritzed the canvas with water and "mushed" the colors
around with a paintbrush.
I stamped randomly on the canvas with
http://lynneforsythe.blogspot.com/

Now.....It JUST wouldn't be me if
a FLOWER was not involved in my creations.
I diecut 2" circles from
(LOVE LOVE LOVE)
6" x 6" paper pad.

http://lynneforsythe.blogspot.com/

I colored the Coffee Filter Sheets with
and spritzed to spread the AWESOME color.
Then I folded the circles in half and
then created a tri~fold and with
my Tiny Attacher, stapled the point.
I adhered the "Petals" to a diecut
circle and embellished with
Wendy Vecchi's ~ Silver Berry Flower Centers.

I hope you enjoyed my Canvas.
Join me next week
for another little "Loverly"!!!
