Chunky ATC!!

I have to say....I had LOADS of fun creating this gift to give!!
It's a CHUNKY ATC. Chunky ATC you say....well yes!
Don't let the name scare you.
It is a 2x4 cut into 2.5" pieces and covered.

I began by using a Gold Champagne Gelato on the edges of the wood
(areas that would be exposed)
I then spritzed the Gelato with
Pearl Gold Luminarte Radiant Rain Shimmering Mist to blend.

I then cut pieces of paper from the 6x6 Rejoice Paper pad.
I inked up my stamp with a Red Cherry Gelato and spritzed with water
and stamped onto my cut pieces. I also, stamped Silk Acrylic Glaze.
Then I distressed the edges.I adhered the paper pieces on
the wood with a Xyron Mega Tape Roller!!

The focal point of my ChunkyATC is the Poinsettia
cut from Canvas and Kraft Corrugated ATC.
I colored the pieces with a Red Cherry Gelato,
Gold Champagne Gelato and Silk Acrylic Glaze.
The Leaves were cut from Birch Wood ATC and colored
using Olive Vine Silk Acrylic Glaze.

ExIstencils!!

Howdy Peeps.....
Can I just say I had SOOOO much fun creating this project!!!

The focus of this months challenge ~ One Product ~ 3 Ways
 .......is "Existencils"
on the Creative Imaginations blog

I chose to showcase my stencils on a Canvas Corp Chunky Canvas.

Dreamlive2

I used Multi Medium with the damask stencil
on the Canvas Corp ~ Pocket Tag to create a resist.

I then spritzed it with Sea Foam ~ Radiant Rain Shimmering Mist.
I dried the canvas pocket,
then spritzed the edges with water and
dipped them into puddles of
Narmonrado ~ Radiant Rain Shimmering Mist.

Dreampocket

I then did a little concocting.........
Dragon Wing ~ Primary Elements and Molding Paste
through the Branch stencil from the Nature's Stencil Kit.

Using a small paint brush,
I dabbed on a bit of Sweet Whisper ~ Radiant Rain Shimmering Mist
into the centers of the Petaloo ~ Pearl Daisies.

Dreambranch

The branches almost look real!!

Dreamside

 To finish off the Canvas....
I sprayed the edges of the canvas with water
and dipped them in Narmorado ~ Radiant Rain Shimmering Mist.
I chose the words...
Dream....Live....Experience Life!
to finish it off!

Dreamwords

Hope I've inspired you to pull out your stencils
and have some fun!!

CREATING....

IT'S A GREAT THOUGHT DIVERTER!!

And boy have I needed to have my thoughts diverted this week......
I think I put this in the top 10 of worst ever....if I was to keep track, that is!
But let's move off that subject and onto more fun things......
LIKE CREATING!!!

There was no challenge, no assignment, no call for this creation.....just me and my supplies!!

This little ditty began with a tag, a handmade stencil, some Adhesive CorkStock,
Tissue Stock, a Dylusions stencil, Molding Paste,
some luscious Radiant Rain Shimmering Mist and I just let my imagination soar!

As the Radiant Rain Mists are fairly new to me....
I just started to play with them!!

I love their effect on the TissueStock!!
and the butterfly
and the leaves
and the jute!!!

I scratched at, tore and dry brushed the Adhesive CorkStock!!
AWESOME LOOK!!

But I think my favorite part of this tag....
is the leaves!!!

With a paintbrush, I lathered on some
Spanish Moss Radiant Rain ~ Shimmering Mist
to the leaves.
I then, spritzed them with Pearl Blue Radiant Rain ~ Shimmering Mist!!
to soften the green.......oh can I say.....
LOVE IT!!

Hope you enjoy my "little ditty" as much as I did creating it.....
and can I say.....I feel better too!!

"Creativity can solve almost any problem.
The creative act.....overcomes everything!"

Scrappy Mail.......

Who doesn't LOVE SCRAPPY MAIL....I know I do and I got me a big ole box of it yesterday from the FABULOUS folks at IOD/Creative Imaginations.....I couldn't WAIT to play with it but I did!!

I stumbled upon this fabulous blog.....Paper Issues! another fun place to play along with!! The Peer Pressure Challenge is "SCALLOP".....so scallop it is!!

I created this cone using my NEW fabulous papers "Night Divine". (I hate taking photos inside at night uuuuuggh!!)  I punched several type of scalloped edges even the lace is scalloped!! I had fun playin' along and with!!

Thank you Peggy for the pattern on how to make this little dittie!!

NIGHT DIVINE......

OK...so self control has not been one of my strengths lately!!! I have been ooogling the Night Divine by IOD/Creative Imaginations paper since the day it arrived in the store. I just couldn't wait to get in my DT package, had to buy it from my LSS, Generations of Memories,
along with the cutest Stocking Banner by Kaiser.

I wanted to keep the stockings rather simple, to focus more on the papers and the word..."MERRY". The holly leaves and berries are made from the AMAZING Canvas Paper by Creative Imaginations....just love this paper! (FYI....I will be moving the tassel to a new location asap!!)

Headed away for a scrappy weekend with friends.....hope you have one too!!

Always Fab!!

I've been itching to do another layout!!! So, I went looking for inspiration.....I had seen a sketch at Creative Imaginations....so I headed back there again! It is the August Sketch....I know....a bit late but this sketch is timeless and I have just gotten around to it!!

I pulled out my "BELOVED" collection by IOD/Creative Imaginations. Don't you just love this paper!! I SURE DO!!

Of course, I had to add my twist to it....that's the beauty of sketches....a great place to get the creative juices going and to spur your imagination. Instead of the paint splots....I used flowers and paper twirls. I adhered the strips to the page by sewing them down. I just love using textiles so I pulled out a doilie I had kicking around and used it.

PS....did you notice I didn't use any DISTRESS INK??? Now, that's a TWIST!!

The photos are self portraits of my lovely daughter Melysa. The journaling reads..."You are...loving, kind, conscientious & thoughtful. You make me proud to be your mom!" (and she does!!!)

Been havin' some fun!!!

So.... I noticed I had been in a rut...and as I always say, "Using a Good Sketch will help get you out of a rut!!!"... so I popped over to my new FAVE sketch site....Capture these Sketches and decided to play along with them!!! I went through lots of sketches before I found on that would really stretch me...it was a sketch with LOTS OF WHITE SPACE. I chose Sketch #2 by Natalie and here is my take on this sketch.

I decided to try doing something different with ribbon so I came up with this little ditty!!! I folded the ribbon and tied it together with a Vintage Thread.

The paper used is by My Minds Eye...Spider Web and Creative Imaginations Diecut.

Of course, I had to use a splash of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist - Copper!! and my ALL TIME FAVORITE saying!!!

"We don't remember days, we remember moments" Cesare Pavese.

So....pop on over...pick a sketch and try it out...I would love to see the page you create!!!

I also had the opportunity to teach at a Scrapbook Retreat put on by Scrappin' Soul Sisters at the Beacon. I got to see some of my gal pals....Paula and Pauline...the theme of the weekend was, "What happens at the Beacons, stays at the Beacon". Tooooo Funny! Thank you to the ladies who took my class....I taught this class...see my Oct 18th post....I might just have to teach it at Generations of Memories....so ladies, this is post #97...in my next post I will show a pict of the RAK I will be giving away....till then CREATE...IT'S A GREAT THOUGHT DIVERTER!
