Colors of Love

I have been in a bit of a creative funk lately....
so I started doing something I rarely do
I began watching Inspiration Wednesdays by Donna Downey.
I also watched a few videos by Marta Lapkowska.
My desire to create an art journal began to gnaw at me....
then.....I FINALLY found a journal that I fell in LOVE with!!
The pages felt soooo YUMMIE!

As I dug through my box of The Crafter's Workshop stencils
I found just the PERFECT stencil that spoke to my heart....
TCW416 ~ Grunge Hearts

Now....I wanted to step out of my "color" box and work with
various products...so I pulled out my container of Faber Castell
full of Gelatos and Big Brush Pens
and chose....
Banana
Red Cherry
Grape
Mango
Squid Ink
I pulled out a paint brush
a water sprayer and I let the random stenciling begin!

Now, we need to back track a bit as
I forgot to tell you how I prepared the background.
(sadly there are no pictures)
I pulled out a package of 7gypsies Paper Tape (for the middle seam)
some vintage dictionary paper, adhered with Multi Medium
and covered lightly with Gesso.

I pulled out another The Crafter's Workshop stencil
TCW242 Damask
and applied Perfect Paints ~ Polishing Plaster ~ Apricot Lily
randomly over the spread. When dry I added
Tattered Angels ~ Glimmer Mist ~ Coffee Shop.
Thank you Marta for this inspiration!

Then I pulled out one of my fave stencils
TCW541 Believe Script
I applied Perfect Paints Shimmering Matte Acrylic ~ Shadow
with a makeup sponge randomly on my pages.

Lastly, I pulled out my
TCW455 Love Post
applied some Perfect Paints ~ Shimmering Stucco
and colored the hearts with various Gelatos
and shadowed using a Big Brush Pen.

....at this point I started adding the Gelato colors
spritzed with water.
Can I say....this journal is the bomb! It took all
the liquid I could put on it....and stayed BEAUTIFUL!

I really need to work on my "handwriting" but for today....it works!

I hope you enjoyed my creative journey....
I really think I've tapped into something here!!
Can't WAIT to try my next spread!

WE.....remember MOMENTS!

Summer is in FULL SWING!
I don't know about you but I spend a lot of time outside,
fleamarkets, garage sales and other FUN outdoor events.
The last thing I want to be hauling around is my pocketbook!
I want to be free to enjoy! So I made myself a "Hip" Bag!

I pulled out a Canvas Corp Brands ~ Canvas Shoulder Bag.
Then I had one of those.....I wonder if moments!
I wonder if....I mixed Gelatos with Textile Medium
could I create an image that would permanent?!??!??!
And by golly it worked!
(not that I would put it in the wash)

I sliced of bits of Gelatoos
Tangerine
Metallic Melon
Butterscotch
and
Blueberry
and with a palette knife gently mixed in
a bit of Textile Medium creating a "paint type" mixture.
(I wish I had pictures!!)

I randomly applied the "paint type" mixture
through the Crafter's Workshop ~ Specimen Template.
When I was finished applying
I used my heat tool to dry my image.
I then used Archival Ink ~ Jet Black and
randomly stamped on my bag.

I then found a piece of vintage lace which I proceeded to color
with my "paint type" mixture
along with some vintage ric-rac!

I then cut the strap,
so the loops could go through the belt loops on my pants
and applied velcro to the inside for easy use.
I added a vintage button on the outside...
just for looks!

There you have.....my "Hip" bag!
The theme for my summer is...
We don't remember days....We remember moments!
And I'm into making MOMENTS this summer!!

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog today1

....an ATC

....THEN WHAT??!??!

Howdy Peeps.....
Lynne Forsythe here for another Guest Design Team post
over at Eclectic Paperie!

I have quite the affection for ATC's.
Such a little tiny space...
to stretch the design skills....

Here is my latest ATC I've create.....

How much goodness
can you pack onto a 2.5" x 3.5" surface??!??!

I collaged on some of Christy Tomlinson's
Coffee Filter Paper using
Multi Medium ~ Matte.

Then I colored on the collaged paper
with 50's Diner Gelatos.
With a wet paint brush I blended the colors.

Using The Crafter's Workshop template,
I applied some Gesso over the collage
and then applied "Blood Orange" Gelato
over the gesso!

Whipped up a little banner....
from the "Unforgettable" collection by MME,
stapled it to the ATC with
my Tiny Attacher.

Of course I had to stick on a flower cluster.
I colored the flowers with the
same "50's Diner" gelatos.

Now....my question always was/is...
What do you do with the little ditties after
you've had sooo much fun making them?!??!

Adorn the face of a card....
and send it to a friend!!

Hope I've inspired you to try one out...
if you never have before!!

Guesting at Eclectic Paperie!!

Howdy Peeps.....I am guest designing for
Eclectic Paperie again!!!

What a week it has been.....
and I have to admit....this week
my "get up and go".....
got up and LEFT!

I ACTUALLY had to force myself
to create.....YES ME!

So....I just jumped in....
with no plan and NO IDEA
what I was going to create!!

I pulled out the
and just BEGAN!

I randomly colored on the box with the Gelatos...

I then spritzed the "colored" box with water.

With the Stipple brush
I swooshed the water around,
blending the colors.

I then pulled out a package of
Christy Tomlinson's ~ Coffee Filter Words,
and tore a sheet into strips.
I dipped my paintbrush into
a jug of Claudine Hellmuth's ~ Multi Medium ~ Matte,
and applied it to the box....randomly!!
I squinshed up the torn pieces in the
Multi Medium.

When dry, I then applied a layer of
Viva Colour ~ Crackle Base Coat for Porous Surfaces,
to the blank areas.
When dry I applied a liberal coat of
Viva Colour ~ Black Crackle Paint.
(these supplies will be arriving in the
epShop SOON!!)

I love how the Gelatos show through the cracks!!

(Now this is when the creative juices kicked in
and I forgot to keep taking pictures......SORRY!)

I sliced off a bit of the "Aqua Dolce" Gelato
and mixed it with a puddle of
Claudine Hellmuth's ~ Gesso.
I did have to spritz the mixture with water occasionally.

I then applied the mixture through Dyan's
Dylusions Stencil ~ Checquered Dots
with the Stipple Brush.

Now if you know anything about my style....
you know there
HAS TO BE a FLOWER involved somewhere!!

I pulled out a package of CMC ~ Darjeeling flowers,
a bottle of Butternut Shimmering Mist,
and sliced of another chunk of the
"Aqua Dolcue" Gelato
which I spritzed with water on my Craft Mat.
I also spritzed a puddle of the Butternut Shimmering Mist
on my Craft Mat.
I then spritzed the flower with water
and let the coloring begin!!

I cut different size leaves from a piece of
Patterned Paper from the
Bo~Bunny Mama~razzi 6x6 paper pad.

I rubbed some Forest Moss Distress Ink on my craft mat,
spritzed it with the mist.
I then painted the mixture onto the leaves.
I then dabbed on some
Shabby Shutters ~ Distress Stickles.

Here is the end result of my
"unmotivated" creative time!!

Hope you've enjoyed my little project!!
Do come back next week for
another creation!!

Guest DT ~ Eclectic Paperie

Howdy Peeps...

I am BEYOND EXCITED to have been
asked to be May's Guest Designer
for Eclectic Paperie.
Totally and HONOR and a PRIVILEGE!

For my first creation, I made a canvas.

http://lynneforsythe.blogspot.com/

I began by placing an Artist Stencil by Donna Downey/Prima
on a Canvas Corp ~ 6" x 6" Stretched Canvas.
I painted Multi Medium ~ Matte through the stencil.

http://lynneforsythe.blogspot.com/

I then, colored on the Canvas with various "blue" Gelatos.
Spritzed the canvas with water and "mushed" the colors
around with a paintbrush.
I stamped randomly on the canvas with
http://lynneforsythe.blogspot.com/

Now.....It JUST wouldn't be me if
a FLOWER was not involved in my creations.
I diecut 2" circles from
(LOVE LOVE LOVE)
6" x 6" paper pad.

http://lynneforsythe.blogspot.com/

I colored the Coffee Filter Sheets with
and spritzed to spread the AWESOME color.
Then I folded the circles in half and
then created a tri~fold and with
my Tiny Attacher, stapled the point.
I adhered the "Petals" to a diecut
circle and embellished with
Wendy Vecchi's ~ Silver Berry Flower Centers.

I hope you enjoyed my Canvas.
Join me next week
for another little "Loverly"!!!

Chunky ATC!!

I have to say....I had LOADS of fun creating this gift to give!!
It's a CHUNKY ATC. Chunky ATC you say....well yes!
Don't let the name scare you.
It is a 2x4 cut into 2.5" pieces and covered.

I began by using a Gold Champagne Gelato on the edges of the wood
(areas that would be exposed)
I then spritzed the Gelato with
Pearl Gold Luminarte Radiant Rain Shimmering Mist to blend.

I then cut pieces of paper from the 6x6 Rejoice Paper pad.
I inked up my stamp with a Red Cherry Gelato and spritzed with water
and stamped onto my cut pieces. I also, stamped Silk Acrylic Glaze.
Then I distressed the edges.I adhered the paper pieces on
the wood with a Xyron Mega Tape Roller!!

The focal point of my ChunkyATC is the Poinsettia
cut from Canvas and Kraft Corrugated ATC.
I colored the pieces with a Red Cherry Gelato,
Gold Champagne Gelato and Silk Acrylic Glaze.
The Leaves were cut from Birch Wood ATC and colored
using Olive Vine Silk Acrylic Glaze.

.....inspiration!!!

I have to say......I was CREATIVELY stumped this morning.
I needed to come up with project to video for this weekend....
yet...... I had another project due later....
But I was stuck wanted to work on the second project.....
As I was in this creative struggle....
I opened my email......and there
was my
INSPIRATION!!

the challenge......
"use all six primary and secondary colors"
ahhhhh.....
my JUMP START!!
I chose 6 Gelatos
a primed "mini canvas"
and let the creating begin.
I made 6 vertical swipes
with one of each of the colors.
I then spritzed the Gelatos
with European Gold ~ Shimmering Mist.

Once dry....
I lathered on a thick layer
of Matte ~ Multi Medium.
Choosing one of my favorites
stamps......
I stamped into the Multi Medium.
(I got the idea watching my fellow
Education Team Member ~ Miranda Edney.)
I placed my mini canvas into a 200 degree oven
to help expedite the drying process.
When dry I spritzed the Multi Medium
with European Gold Shimmering Mist.
See how it just sits in the crevices!??!?

A flower.....
some leaves, with a
piece of ribbon and jute!
I was now free to complete my
assignment!!!
